Stopped by for a weeknight dinner & grabbed a seat at the bar, which turned out to be perfect for shooting the open kitchen without getting in anyone's way. The bone marrow was the highlight of the night, rich & smoky & clearly the dish most people at nearby tables were ordering too. Service was relaxed but attentive, & the bartender took the time to explain a few things on the menu without ever feeling rushed. Exposed brick & low lighting made for a great atmosphere, even if it meant bumping my ISO up a bit to get decent shots.

king of seafood in montreal but also good steak we found out. seafood tower/platter was fabulous - lobster & the chips & whipped cod dip were standouts. the snow crab app was insane. best dish imo. we also got the halibut & the steak & both were divine. the peach & tomato salad was great since it was peach season too. the coffee cake is to die for with the homemade icecream to top it off. incredible service - non stop waters. we also got the chablis which was wonderful & perfect paired with all the seafood. we will be back

As a New Yorker & world traveler I do eat at lots of Michelin Guide recommended restaurants & this was absolutely top 5. You must do the chefs menu. Each dish we were wowed. All the seafood was so fresh, seasoning was perfection, & you get so much food for the price. We also ordered a bottle of wine that paired perfectly with the seafood.

& then theres the service...immaculate. It's an intimate space with very dim lighting, the server took his time explaining the menu answered all of our questions thoroughly. Pacing was PERFECT. Not too fast nor too slow.

DON'T SKIP DESSERT.

Birthday dinner, date night, girls night...great for any occasion.

If this hadn't been one of the best meals I've ever had then being served by Jihan would have made it such.

A wonderful experience, thank you!!

My husband & I visited this restaurant with a couple of friends who had come from another city to spend the weekend with us. After a wonderful day in Montreal, we ended close to the restaurant, so it wasn't planned to eat there & we didn't have a reservation.

We arrived close to 9:00 p.m. on a Sunday , knowing that the restaurant closed at 10:30 p.m. We completely understood that this was a last-minute decision, & we would not have had any problem leaving if no table had been available.

David welcomed us at the door & told us that a table would be ready in approximately 25 minutes. He also said that we could order drinks while we waited. Each of us ordered one drink. We ended up waiting approximately 50 minutes instead of 25, but we did not complain because we understood that we had arrived without a reservation.

When David finally took us to our table, he told us that the drinks we had ordered while waiting would be complimentary. We assumed this was a kind gesture because the wait had been longer than expected.

The appetizers & main courses were excellent. Every bite was full of flavor. The octopus was delicious, & the meat was cooked exactly as each person had requested. The only disappointing item was the side of fries I ordered. They arrived long after my main course, were soggy, & tasted burnt. However, overall, we were genuinely impressed with the food.

The restaurant was busy, & many guests were talking & enjoying themselves. We were laughing & speaking in our own language (Portuguese). A couple seated across from us repeatedly looked at my friend with visible annoyance & made hand gestures telling her to be quiet or lower her voice. This made all of us feel extremely uncomfortable.

When we asked for the bill, we mentioned that the dishes were not what we had expected, they were actually even better!. We also explained that the behavior of the other couple, who had already left, had made us uncomfortable. The person serving us did not respond & simply walked away.

When we paid, I left an 18% tip, while my friend left a smaller amount. This was not intended to offend anyone. Each person made an individual decision based on their own circumstances & overall experience.

After the bill had already been paid, while my friend was finishing his drink, David returned to our table, placed another bill in front of us, & began walking away without saying anything. This second bill was for the drinks that he had previously told us were complimentary.

Confused, we called him back & asked why we were suddenly being charged for something he had clearly said was on the house. His exact response was,'It is to make a point.' He explained that we had not left enough of a tip for the team.

When we questioned him further, David told us that he had found a table for us & that everyone involved had treated us very well. We never disagreed with that. In fact, we openly acknowledged that the staff had been wonderful & that the food had exceeded our expectations. Our issue was not with the table he found for us or with the service we received. Apparently, the problem was simply that we did not leave the amount of tip they expected.

This made the situation even more humiliating. Good service does not give a restaurant the right to withdraw something that was clearly offered as complimentary or use it to punish customers for not leaving the desired tip. A tip should reflect each customer's personal choice & overall experience; it should not be demanded through embarrassment, confrontation, or retaliation.

The food was genuinely excellent, & we would have remembered this restaurant very positively. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled after we paid completely overshadowed the quality of the meal. No customer should be publicly shamed or have a promised complimentary item withdrawn because a staff member believes the tip was insufficient.

I will never recommend it for anyone, so humiliating.

This might be our new favorite restaurant I. Montreal ( & the bar is high!). The Crab Cake was the best thing ever as was the swordgish, halibut , duck & chocolate cake.

I visited this restaurant in July during my trip to Montreal & it was an absolute highlight of the journey.

The staff were incredibly friendly & welcoming. The seafood was remarkably fresh & delicious & everything from the main dishes all the way to dessert was nothing short of perfect. Thanks to this wonderful dining experience, our day ended on such a high note, leaving us with truly fond memories of Montreal.

We would love to visit again!

I came here expecting to have a nice meal, but the experience ended on a disappointing note.

After paying the bill, I was confronted by the manager & our server, David, about the tip I left. I was told that my tip was'below the average,' which made me feel uncomfortable & pressured.

In my opinion, tipping should be a personal choice based on the quality of the service received. I have never experienced staff confronting customers over the amount they chose to tip.

Unfortunately, this interaction overshadowed the entire visit, & I would not return.
