Franklin's Subs and Suds is located on St-Paul street in Old-Montreal. Delicious "Philly Cheesesteak" submarines are the main attraction. The decor is very comforting, you'll find arcades, beautifully designed graffiti and great ambient music.
Reviews describe a lively casual spot in the Old Port with strong drinks, quick service and a menu that shines on smoked meat sandwiches, poutine and burgers, delivering solid value and a welcoming vibe. The atmosphere ranges from cozy to energetic, aided by retro decor, music and a bar scene that makes it easy to hang out. The staff are described as attentive and friendly, providing fast service and helpful recommendations. While experiences are mostly positive, some notes mention crowding, noise and occasional variability in dishes such as the poutine. Overall Franklin's is seen as a reliable choice for lunch or a casual night out in Montreal, offering memorable smoked meat and good drinks with a lively social vibe.
Amazing smoked meat. Best I've had in a while. Our server was friendly & funny. Can't wait to come back. Music brought me back to my old school hip hop days ! Great vibe.
Popped in before heading to Les Foufounes Électriques & had a great experience. Sapporo on tap, smoked meat poutine was plentiful & delicious. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. Visiting from NYC & it's definitely a chill, late-night eatery vibe. Music is great, at level where you can talk to your company. Super friendly staff.
Stopped here for a quick meal after a long & exhausting weekend. We loved the unfussy, low-key vibes. Our poutine was pretty good (pickles might be my new go-to topping) & the cocktails were enjoyable too. A lot of comfort food on the menu.
Franklin's is a cool spot for good food & cold drinks. Definitely get New York hip hop vibes from the framed Yankees jerseys & the older gully rap. Service was terrific. Not a wide beer selection. Sapporo is tasty, but expensive. The smoked meat sandwich isn't as good as say Schwartzs deli but not bad! I do wish the meat to bread ratio was a bit more even. It's probably like 75% meat & the rest bread. The star of the night was their fried chicken sandwich. The sauce , the slaw, & the chicken breast itself, is perfect!

1st off, Tristan has the best service of any mixologist I have come across. Montreal has a spot that caters to all generations. The nostalgia showcasing decades of memorabilia will certainly bring the kid out on you. Whether you snuck a peek at your dad's playboy magazines or that little girl who loved her cabbage patch kid, I feel you will enjoy your time at Franklin's. You get the fun mid twenties vibe while the music sets the tone while you check your phone to see if the babysitter has called asking when you are coming home. I suggest not answering that phone because you have a lot of signature house cocktails to choose from & you may want to try a few of them. I suggest the Pitbull. No doubt, the best relaxed but vibing watering hole in Montreal.
I stopped by Franklin's Subs & Suds in Old Montreal one night, & it was a fantastic way to end the evening. The highlight of my visit was the poutine with smoked meat. The fries were perfectly crispy, the gravy was savory without being overwhelming, & the smoked meat brought a rich, satisfying flavor that tied it all together. It was comfort food at its finest. The atmosphere at night was cozy & inviting, with just the right amount of buzz to keep the energy up without feeling crowded. The beer selection was impressive, offering plenty of options to pair with the meal. I enjoyed the relaxed vibe, where you could sit back & savor your food while soaking in the historic surroundings of Old Montreal. Overall, Franklin's delivered a great experience. The combination of tasty food, a comfortable setting, & a prime location makes it a spot worth visiting, especially after dark when Old Montreal's charm is at its peak. Four stars for a memorable night out with excellent poutine.
Best food place I've been to in so long! The decor was cute & the vibes were high & our server Kevin added to it! If you're wanting somewhere fun to eat/drink then go to Franklins for a good laugh & the best food!
Of course MTL has a lot to offer & so much to see. Our group wanted a relaxed place with great food & TVs for hockey playoffs. This place provided all that we wanted & more!! The manager Geoff & Tristan (sorry if spelled incorrectly) provided great customer service & great vibes during our time there. We were in MTL for 6 days & we managed to return to Franklins several times either for quick drinks, a night of food & drinks or even just to say Hi while exploring the old port &/or shopping. Highly recommend!
Best place in the old port ! Chill vibe , great deco, nice music ! Tristan the bartender was perfect really great service ! I recommend this place 100%
