Franklin's Subs and Suds is located on St-Paul street in Old-Montreal. Delicious "Philly Cheesesteak" submarines are the main attraction. The decor is very comforting, you'll find arcades, beautifully designed graffiti and great ambient music.
Reviews describe a lively casual spot in the Old Port with strong drinks, quick service and a menu that shines on smoked meat sandwiches, poutine and burgers, delivering solid value and a welcoming vibe. The atmosphere ranges from cozy to energetic, aided by retro decor, music and a bar scene that makes it easy to hang out. The staff are described as attentive and friendly, providing fast service and helpful recommendations. While experiences are mostly positive, some notes mention crowding, noise and occasional variability in dishes such as the poutine. Overall Franklin's is seen as a reliable choice for lunch or a casual night out in Montreal, offering memorable smoked meat and good drinks with a lively social vibe.
Great time sitting at the bar! Bartender's Tim & Theo were great & introduced us to some great cocktails. Not to mention the 3 dollars hot dog. We will be back!

Our bartender Tristan made excellent drinks & was super fast! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a burger & fries joint. Walk in & say hey!
Philly steak was very good but dissapointed they used yellow cheddar cheese for the price of the sandwich could of went with swiss or gouda for that price... Fries were average nothing crazy The price of the combo wich I thought would be fries & a drink is of 6$ wich includes only a box of fries that once again are average theyre just fries with a lil salt. The lemonade & pina colada slush were also 6$ each wich I find a bit expensive. Cause in the end two sandwiches +fries & drinks costed me around 70$ wich I find a lil expensive for bar food. Other than that staff was super friendly & it seems like a great place to drink & grab a snack.
We came in for supper on a week night. We had a couple of beers from a limited tap. We got pushed their smoke meat platter. It was quite disappointing. The bread was dry, the beef was underwhelming. Order the burger. The hoagie was bare with limited stuffing.
Manager was a legend. The most Welcoming we have felt in Montreal. We sat at the bar. He was accommodating & had great recommendations. We had a pint, an aperol spritz & a perfectly made espresso martini (hard to find). The smoked meat poutine is basically Reuben on poutine. It was glorious. Staff were all super nice & fun. I highly recommend a stop.
I have realized belatedly that Saint Paul is a tourist trap with terrible food. We were going from one resto to the next trying to get a table & finally settled on this casse-croûte snack bar out of desperation. I have enjoyed hot dog & poutine at similar spots in Montreal in the past but the poutine here was extremely salty & bad. I think I have had better poutine at a Smoke's in Ontario & that is a poor example of the dish. The hot dog was okay. Very much college student bar with loud music & a wall covered with Playboy covers.
Oh my gosh!! I loved this place the bartenders were the nicest people on the planet (Makenzie & Kevin)! Had such a great time & the drinks were tasty:))
Bartenders Kevin & Mackenzie are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, definitely recommend. They made our bachelorette night the best ever!!! Such a fun experience, they were so accommodating!!
