Franklin's Subs and Suds is located on St-Paul street in Old-Montreal. Delicious "Philly Cheesesteak" submarines are the main attraction. The decor is very comforting, you'll find arcades, beautifully designed graffiti and great ambient music.
Franklin's Subs and Suds is described by reviewers as a casual, lively spot with strong food, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Smoked meat classics like the smoked meat sandwich and poutine are frequently praised for generous portions and bold flavor. The Philly cheesesteaks and burgers are highlighted as standout items, with tender meat, melty cheese, and satisfying sides. The bar scene and drinks are a recurring strong point, with attentive service and a vibe fueled by music and friendly staff. Service is consistently described as warm and helpful, with staff going the extra mile to accommodate guests, though a few notes mention occasional inconsistencies during busy periods. The atmosphere is seen as cozy yet energetic, making it suitable for casual meals with friends or family, and value is often cited as good for the price. Overall, the place is viewed as a reliable go-to for lunch or a night out, with many planning to return on future visits.
5 hockey games, amazing drinks, kick ass tunes, the bartender MacKenzie was amazing, the food was absolute fire. The poutine & Philly cheese steak sandwich were top notch, will never not say this place is amazing.

let me preface this by saying we came here with our toddler which, from the pictures & reviews, seemed like it would be fine. none of the pictures showed the giant wall covered in playboy magazines 😬 add in that the music was BLASTING & they don't have high chairs, we had to eat & run as quickly as possible. suffice it to say we're not the target audience for this environment, a younger crowd may enjoy it more. I don't fault the restaurant for this, just good to know.
the food was fairly good. my husband really enjoyed his smash burger & I liked the poutine, though it was veryyyyy salty. the hoagie was… not great. it really wasn't a hoagie, I didn't know what to make of the meat that was on it, it was almost like bacon but not. it was also pretty sparse. service was not super friendly but not bad. overall, wouldn't come back but don't not recommend.
Un excellent ambiance avec de la nourriture excellente aussi. La petite borne d'arcade avec Donkey Kong ma aussi amener à cet avis. Je recommande fortement & j'espère y revenir un jour!
Jeff & his wife have a fantastic place in Old Montreal. We were greeted right away & sat, & ordered food. Food came out quickly & was unreal - get the smoked meat sandwich & poutine. Thank me later!

We wanted late evening eats & found this amazing establishment.
Loved the smoked meat & smash burgers. Next table over ordered poutine & we were sad we did not get that too! Welcome casual vibes, initial service & food delivery was prompt & friendly. Will revisit to try more & check the playlist.
