Lovely place for couples, business dinners, & family. Their menu has a great selection for fishes & wines. The Seabream & the grouper fishes with veggies on the side as entrees, along with fish ceviche & sardines as appetizers were simply all delicious. Their sommelier also helped us choose a wonderful white wine to accompany our meals.

Not so familiar with Portuguese food, but I think that was a plus for us, everything we tried was a bit unexpected in addition to being expertly prepared & delicious. We had a lovely scallop ceviche that was nuanced, not the lime bomb you often get (which I also like!) Fish & seafood is the reason to come, but the carnivores will be pleased with the ribeye & other trad meat dishes. The bar was happening, the cocktails & mocktails were fun & tasty. Our server was a total pro. All around great dining experience.
Ferreira is not was it used to be. We have been coming for 20 years & are now very disapointed by the declining quality. The cod was served with the skin on a puree of patatos (end of tale piece). The bouillabaisse was tasteless as if it cooked for 15 min.. & the grilled market fish was served with heated veggies & an orzo salad that could have come from any food court. We will sadly not be coming back.
Truly a top experience! Hands down the best execution on grilled sea bass I've ever had. Great touch with perfectly cooked veggies & humous on the side. If i had that every day & had to, I could give up steak, & I love steak! (I need to up my fish cooking game for sure). The sourdough bread to start was tasty. The octopus & squid appetizers were so simple but so tasty & again perfectly prepared. Great wine list, knowledgeable sommelier that made it fun. Service in general is excellent. Never ran out of water, & wine kept flowing. Next time I'll hope to sit watching the kitchen. On my list of top restaurants in the world.
We flew to Mtl from Toronto for my birthday in January. Made a reso & told them we're flying in to spend my bday dinner at Café Ferreira & it was fabulous! They wished me a happy birthday & were so sweet. We started with the grilled sardines (so yummy, we always have them) & a glass of champagne! Them moved on to the fish filet of the day (never dissapoints it was amazing) with the perfect Portuguese wine recommended by our wait person. & she surprised us with a selection of miniature version of their most popular desserts, on the house & more birthday wishes. This is THE best seafood restaurant in Mtl...I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is chic yet not intimidating at all, the food is fabulous & the service is exceptional! In a city where good food is the norm, Café Ferreira's food & service is hors pairs!
My favorite restaurant in Montreal. Incredible selection of fresh fish, & our waiter was so helpful in describing them as well as a great recommendation for Portuguese wine. The atmosphere is vibrant but not noisy, & we could see both the fresh fish display & the open kitchen, A wonderful experience.
Great selection of fish plates & then some daily specials. specials. I am sorry but when the main dishes came I started on my salmon & after I finished I started to take pictures of the other dishes. It was all great.
I went with a few friends & we all love the food being prepared so freshly. We can see lots of employees working seriously in the open kitchen preparing the food. They seem to know what they are doing, especially the person who prepares the fresh fish.
We enjoyed the food & the good service. Thank you Ferreira Cafe for the good experience.
Excellent Food & Service. Anything fish or seafood is a winner. Ceviche is one of the best. The sole is wonderful. The seafood casserole is generous & cooked to perfection. Love the generous serving of perfectly cooked vegetables which accompany most dishes. Restaurant ambience is welcoming, & the music is great & not too loud. Highly recommend.
