Small shop- seating was tight. Small bagels- my hunger left feeling unsatisfied.
A real deal Montreal bagel shop with a long history, great bagels, great staff, & a great experience, which I recommend, even though I still prefer Brooklyn style bagels.
By the way, there is a Café Fairmount Bagel across the street, especially if you want a drink or a sandwich
What I Like 👍:
A) Fresh bagels if you order at the front.
B) They have cream Cheese & spreads for sale as well.
C) It has history & a one of the popular bagel shops.
D) Service is good. They are bilingual. French & English.
What I did not like 👎:
A) Some of the bells they give were a little burnt for me.
B) It's a not a bagel shop where they put meat or salmon etc. Many tourist think it's like a sandwich shop.
C) No credit. Only Canadian Debit or Money.
D) Pricey for my budget still worth it though.
Final thoughts 💭:
It's a good & decent bagel shop. Been here many times. Just improve on the bagels & customer sastifactoon.

An iconic bagel shop in Montreal that's conveniently open 24/7. I got their sesame & onion bagels which I enjoyed. Personally do prefer St.Viatuer's but these are quite good as well. They are cash only under $10 I believe & also accept debit.
After trying a few of Montreal's famous bagel spots, this one ended up being one of my favorites. The bagel sandwich was fresh, packed with ingredients, & had a great balance of flavors.
What surprised me most was that I actually enjoyed the sandwich here more than some of the other hyped bagel shops in the city. The bagels had a great texture, & everything tasted fresh without feeling overly complicated.
If you're looking for a solid bagel sandwich in Montreal, don't overlook this place. Less hype, great food, & definitely worth a visit.
I don't actually like bagels but I had to try these famous ones, they were pretty good. I liked the everything bagel & onion spiced ones. The shop has very limited space so you ave to know what you're getting & be in & out, specially because there is always a line up. Server was very kind & patient with me figuring it out for the first time though.
A staff member at the bagel-only shop across the street told me I could bring the bagels to the café & they would make them into sandwiches, so I bought four bagels.
However, when I went to the café, they said they couldn't do that & that I would need to order again if I wanted a sandwich.
If the staff member wasn't sure, they should have said so instead of giving incorrect information.
The café did offer to cut the bagels in half, but without toasting or cream cheese, it was very difficult to eat.
If you want a sandwich, just order directly at the café. Overall, my first experience was disappointing.
