Welcome to Dunya, a cozy spot at the corner of Sherbrooke and Saint Laurent in Montreal. We serve up simple, delicious shawarma and falafel, made with care and consistency, just like back home with a touch of modern flair. Our goal is to offer tasty, affordable meals that everyone can enjoy, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down with friends. We can’t wait to share our love for good food with you. Come by and say hello!
Overall, reviews describe Dunya as one of the best shawarma spots in Montreal with authentic Lebanese flavor, a simple but high quality menu, and very reasonable prices. The chicken shawarma is consistently juicy and well seasoned, the beef shawarma earns praise for depth of flavor, and the garlic toum sauce is a standout. The falafel is often called the best in town, and the fattoush and fresh sides are regularly praised. Fries are crispy and the homemade sauces and dips are a highlight, with ice cream and peach iced tea winning fans as well. The atmosphere is cozy and clean, with friendly, attentive staff and a welcoming vibe that makes it feel like home. Some notes mention occasional order mix ups with delivery and limited seating, and a few people found portions lighter or the chicken a touch salty, but the overall experience remains reliable and consistently delicious. Dunya is a go to for takeout or dine in for authentic Lebanese shawarma in Montreal.
Old school shawarma, like the one from back home. No unnecessary stuffings like lettuce to make it seem larger than it is. The beef & chicken are tender & grilled to perfection. The garlic sauce tastes like garlic, as it should. Reasonably priced in today's economy.

Finally a real Lebanese shawarma in Montreal…me & my wife tried the meat & the chicken shawarma as well as the falafel , & everything was delicious! I'm so happy!
Hands down the BEST falafel in Montreal! The first bite took me back to my falafel experience in Lebanon. It's simply perfect, the ingredients are all fresh & tasty. I also had the shawarma sandwich as well which was really good but you can get good shawarma in Montreal. However, their falafel is in a league of its own. The fries was also very good. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to have a real falafel sandwich!
The best Shawarma I've tried in Canada, made me reminisce home. Tried the beef, chicken & the falafel, all three were phenomenal. The Pistachio ice cream was also really good - I will definitely be recommending this place to anyone that's craving an authentic Lebanese experience. The staff were very friendly as well - thank you Dunya for the experience.
The Beef shawarma & the chicken shawarma were phenomenal. Very tasty. The falafel was ok, tasty but not the best. The fattoush is not fattoush at all: it didn't have the pomegranate molasses which is very essential to the authentic fattoush. Fries & garlic are spot on. The homemade ice tea peach was incredible.
This is truly the best shawarma I've ever had, & trust me I tried a lot. Chicken shawarma with no freaking tomatoes or cucumbers like in other places, everything inside is pickled like it should be. The garlic sauce is to die for, yet you can still kiss your girlfriend afterwards with no weird smells, if you know you know & just 9$ which is a steel in this economy!

Everything was sooo delicious! We had the chicken Shawarma, fattouche salad, fries, ice cream, & the star of the show the Falafel plate (gluten free!). The prices are so affordable & staff are lovely!
My new favourite spot! The falafel & beef shawarma remind me of food back in Lebanon/ Dubai. I'm craving them while typing this review 15/10 would come again
As a frequent customer of Dunya, I've always enjoyed their delicious, authentic shawarma. However, my recent experience was disappointing. When I tried to order 10 sandwiches to pick up, I was told it was considered catering & couldn't be fulfilled on the spot. They also refused to accept an order of 4+ sandwiches in-store. If they can't handle such requests, they should reconsider their operations.
Got the beef shawarma, fattoush salad & a falafel! Everything was super fresh! Meat was tender, the salad was bright & the falafel was crispy on the outside & tender on the inside!
