Festival MURAL Montréal 2026 is an internationally recognized urban art festival that transforms the city into a massive open-air gallery celebrating creativity, street culture, and public art. Taking place over approximately 10 to 12 days in early to mid-June, the festival brings together local and international artists to create large-scale murals live across building façades, mainly along Boulevard Saint-Laurent, between Sherbrooke Street and Avenue du Mont-Royal.
Throughout the event, visitors can watch murals come to life in real time, turning the city into a constantly evolving artistic landscape. Each day reveals new works, while previously completed pieces remain as part of Montréal's growing permanent outdoor art collection.
Beyond the murals themselves, MURAL offers a vibrant program of cultural activities including live music performances, DJ sets, block parties, street food vendors, and interactive installations. The festival also features family-friendly programming such as workshops, creative activities, and accessible public art experiences designed for all ages.
One of the key aspects of MURAL is its accessibility: most of the programming is free and open to the public, encouraging both locals and tourists to explore the Plateau-Mont-Royal and Mile End neighborhoods while engaging directly with artists and the creative process.
By combining visual art, music, performance, and community energy, Festival MURAL has become one of Montréal's signature summer events, known for turning everyday city streets into a dynamic, immersive cultural experience.
