About

Casa Galicia has been a staple of Spanish cuisine in Montreal since 1977. Founded by Laurentino Oliveira and still proudly family-run, the tradition continues today with Jorge Oliveira and David Oliveira at the helm.

Recognized as one of the best Spanish restaurants in North America, Casa Galicia specializes in authentic Galician cuisine, offering classic dishes like paella, zarzuela, and a variety of regional specialties. Guests can pair their meals with a refreshing pitcher of sangria considered among the best in Montreal, or explore the restaurant’s unique wine cellar, featuring reserve wines from Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and distinctive décor make every visit memorable. On weekends, the experience is elevated with live flamenco performances, including a professional Spanish guitarist, bringing a touch of Spain’s vibrant culture to the heart of the city.

We went there this last weekend to celebrate my father's birthday. Our waiter was so kind & welcoming, he made our experience so worth writing for. Beautiful dancing to accompany & amazing meal. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Casa Galicia. The restaurant is very small & extremely noisy. The flamenco performances might be entertaining at first, but they quickly become overwhelming because of the constant loud music. On top of that, every few minutes the staff gathers around another table to sing'Happy Birthday.' It's a nice gesture once or twice, but after hearing it over & over, it becomes disruptive rather than enjoyable.

The service was also incredibly slow. To make matters worse, our waiter accidentally spilled sangria on my shirt while pouring drinks. Instead of apologizing sincerely, he laughed & said,'Thank God it wasn't red sangria,' & kept laughing. I found that very unprofessional.

Finally, the prices are far too high for the overall experience. Between the slow service, the excessive noise, & the lack of professionalism, I was not impressed. This was my first visit, & it will definitely be my last.

We came here for a birthday celebration & were very excited by the positive reviews. Though the food was excellent, the service was really poor. Servers were very slow & inattentive & what was meant to be a light celebration ended in frustration & disappointment (dinner took 3 hours to be served to 3 people). Too bad...the food was great!

Went here for my birthday dinner & was completely blown away by how good Casa Galicia was. The resto decor was classy & cozy, the flamenco show was an unexpected bonus, & the only thing better than the first class service was their delicious tasting menu. I highly recommend giving Casa Galicia a try.
