Casa Galicia has been a staple of Spanish cuisine in Montreal since 1977. Founded by Laurentino Oliveira and still proudly family-run, the tradition continues today with Jorge Oliveira and David Oliveira at the helm.
Recognized as one of the best Spanish restaurants in North America, Casa Galicia specializes in authentic Galician cuisine, offering classic dishes like paella, zarzuela, and a variety of regional specialties. Guests can pair their meals with a refreshing pitcher of sangria considered among the best in Montreal, or explore the restaurant’s unique wine cellar, featuring reserve wines from Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and distinctive décor make every visit memorable. On weekends, the experience is elevated with live flamenco performances, including a professional Spanish guitarist, bringing a touch of Spain’s vibrant culture to the heart of the city.
Casa Galicia stands out as a welcoming spot with generous portions, flavorful seafood and paella, friendly service, and a warm authentic Spanish ambiance, enhanced by lively flamenco on select nights and a memorable overall experience that makes guests want to return.
Absolutely loved this place! The food was authentic, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The paella was rich & perfectly cooked, & the tapas were amazing for sharing. The atmosphere felt warm & lively, with great music & cozy Spanish vibes. Staff were friendly, attentive, & made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best Spanish restaurants I've tried - highly recommend for date nights or dinners with friends! We were served by Firo

Exceptional birthday dinner at Casa Galicia. The drive from Toronto was well worth it for the stunning ambiance & Domenic's incredible service-including a Portuguese birthday song! Between the wonderful meal & the Valentine's Day rose, every detail was perfect. We loved the tradition of the bill collection on the wall & were happy to contribute 5 Euros to the display. Highly recommend this gem for any special occasion!
Thank you to Firo our wonderful server! The night was excellent. The food was delicious, wholesome, & flavorful. Firo was kind, gracious, & quite entertaining! We also had the pleasure of enjoying the Flamenco dancing, which was a perfect edition to the evening. Highly recommend!

Dear Montreal, I don't usually make google reviews often however from my experience tonight, I made sure I had to make one for Casa Galicia! This was NOT written by ChatGPT!
We ordered the paella, the mussels, the lobster soup & a couple drinks for the table. The food was absolutely amazing! While we were waiting for the food to come out, we were delighted with an amazing guitarist & dancer. The atmosphere was so captivating that I could see everyone's eyes locked onto the stage. Also the desserts were fantastic too! We had the house cake & Portuguese tarts!
Lastly & most importantly, the service is what stood out the most. Every server was fantastic & treated us like family. We were able to meet David the wonderful & extremely kind owner of the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in MONTREAL. Thank you, what a night to remember.
I highly recommend this experience not only for the authentic food, but also for the amazing flamenco show, 7stars we had the grill seafood platter for 2 wow wow wow

The restaurant's cozy, rustic decor & lively music immediately made us feel like we were in Spain. We started with a selection of delicious tapas, with the grilled octopus being my favorite. For the main course, we had a seafood paella that was incredibly flavorful. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. I highly recommend this place for a lovely evening out in town.
Excellent food & service. Just got back from Spain & we were happily surprised how good their paella was . Just like the ones we ate there . Highly recommended

Traveling through Spain & Portugal over the last 10 years this restaurant makes you feel you are there. I had a seafood & lobster casserole, which is probably the best I've ever had. Ambience, service, food quality all excellent add to that an amazing chef & I recommend highly.
Living in New York city & coming to Montreal Jazzfest, for 15 years, this restaurant will be one of my favorites
Excellent seafood. Excellent paella. The owner & the staff are very charismatic. The only thing that was missing was the flamenco show. Very cozy & I highly recommend for people that live in the city & for tourists.
We went there expecting excellent food & an entertaining cultural performance. We were not at all disappointed. We didn't expect the cozy environment & incredibly kind & friendly service. Highly, highly recommended. As an aside, one of us is vegetarian, & the vegan menu option was tasty too.
