Review Summary

Dunya is widely celebrated as one of the best and most authentic Lebanese shawarma spots in Montreal, with many customers comparing the quality and flavor to what they have experienced in Lebanon. Reviewers frequently praise the fresh ingredients, juicy meats, crispy fries, and delicious homemade sauces, particularly the garlic-rich toum. While the restaurant is consistently busy and often features a long lineup, patrons appreciate the efficient, friendly, and generous service provided by the team. Though some mention that the space is small with limited seating and that specific items can occasionally run out, the overall consensus is that the high-quality food, reasonable prices, and welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for anyone looking for an exceptional Middle Eastern dining experience.

As a Lebanese, I honestly don't think I've ever had Lebanese food abroad that tasted this close to home. Everything felt so authentic: the flavors, the quality, even the little details brought me straight back to Lebanon. Absolutely delicious from start to finish!

& the team was just amazing: warm, welcoming, & attentive, they made the whole experience even better.

A must in Montreal!!!!

I found this extremely rude & unprofessional. If 9:50 p.m. was the cutoff for taking new orders, I should have been told that when I joined the line, not after being made to wait while every customer in front of me was served. The restaurant was still full of people eating, so there was no indication that service had already ended.

What made the experience even more frustrating was being able to see staff in the kitchen joking around, playing, & wasting time instead of helping customers who were still waiting to order. It gave the impression that serving customers was simply not a priority.

I understand that restaurants have closing times & staff need to finish their shifts, but there is a respectful & professional way to communicate that to customers. Making someone wait in line & then refusing service only when they reach the counter is very poor customer service. The dismissive attitude & lack of consideration made the entire experience feel unfair & disrespectful.

I left extremely disappointed with how I was treated & would seriously reconsider returning to a restaurant where customers can be handled this way.

I came in on August 14th at 9:40PM
. to place a pickup order & was the last person in line. The cashier served the three customers ahead of me, but when it became my turn, she informed me that she was closed & would not take my order.

Given that the restaurant was still full of customers eating & the three people immediately ahead of me were served, I found the way this was handled very disappointing & unfair. If the cutoff for new orders was 10:00 p.m., that should have been communicated when I joined the line rather than only after I had waited while everyone ahead of me was served.

Whenever in the mood for shawarma, head straight to Dunya. The best juicy tender shawarma! My go place every time I visit Montreal. The food is great & the team is super friendly :)

Great shawarma, especially the beef, tastes earthy, yum. The ice cream is nice as well. Very stylish place, somewhat larpy. Only small issue is the relatively small space to eat, but it adds to the place's overall charm.

I've had a LOT of shawarma in Montreal, & I can genuinely say that Dunya Shawarma has some of the best I've ever had in the city. Like… wow. Both the chicken & beef shawarma absolutely blew me away.

The chicken shawarma was incredibly juicy, tender, & flavorful. The garlic sauce, pickles, & seasoning all came together perfectly without overpowering the meat. Every bite was balanced, & the chicken itself was easily one of the best I've had.

The beef shawarma was just as impressive. Tender, deeply seasoned, & with those perfectly crispy, slightly charred edges that make shawarma so satisfying. The flavor of the beef really stood out rather than getting lost under sauces & toppings.

What impressed me most is that I genuinely can't pick a favorite. The chicken is garlicky, juicy, & bright, while the beef is richer & more savory. Both are completely different but equally incredible.

I honestly went in expecting a good shawarma & left thinking,'Wow, this might actually be the best shawarma I've had in Montreal.' If you love shawarma, Dunya is absolutely worth trying. & honestly, get both. You won't regret it.
