Welcome to Dunya, a cozy spot at the corner of Sherbrooke and Saint Laurent in Montreal. We serve up simple, delicious shawarma and falafel, made with care and consistency, just like back home with a touch of modern flair. Our goal is to offer tasty, affordable meals that everyone can enjoy, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down with friends. We can’t wait to share our love for good food with you. Come by and say hello!
Reviews paint Dunya as a go-to for authentic Lebanese shawarma and falafel, with juicy chicken and beef shawarma, crispy fries, fresh fattoush, and house made toum, plus beloved peach iced tea and ashta ice cream at affordable prices. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, making dining in or takeout feel easy and enjoyable. People praise quick service, good value, and consistent flavors that remind them of home, even as the venue can get crowded and seating is limited. Occasional notes include delivery mixups or small wraps, but these are outweighed by praise for quality, authenticity, and the overall experience.
I like how fast the orders are, & everything is prepared right in front of you. The prices are very good too! I tried the chicken shawarma & it tasted great. The toum was a bit too garlicky for me, but still good. The falafel was actually really good! :)

Vraiment excellent !
I so love this place! me & my husband would always order it from home but yesterday we tried it in the actual store & I don't think we can go back to delivery, it's just way way better & so fresh! the chicken is a must get, my favorite ❤?🥰
Best Shawarma in Montreal by far. I've had the chicken, I've had the beef, I've had the falafel, I've had the fries, I've had the peach tea, I've had the fattouche… I've basically had the whole menu & loved every single thing. Fresh ingredients, amazing flavours & sweet staff. They are always so busy but stay kind & get the food out quickly. I'd give 100 stars if I could.
Also, don't forget to end your meal with an ice cream, also amazing!

Really good chicken shawarma honestly!! The garlic sauce is also bomb. However, there's been times Ive visited in the afternoon & they have ran out of chicken. Also, not really a friendly place to dine in, better to take out, as it's always really busy & there aren't enough tables.
If you're looking for the best authentic shawarma in the Montreal area, Dunya is the place to go! The quality is outstanding, the flavors are rich & authentic, & you can taste the freshness in every bite.
Both the chicken shawarma & the beef/meat shawarma are absolutely perfectly seasoned, juicy, & cooked to perfection. The garlic sauce, fresh ingredients, & generous portions make the experience even better.
You can really tell they care about quality & authenticity. Friendly service, great atmosphere, & consistently delicious food every time. Highly recommended to anyone who loves real shawarma one of the best in Montreal!
Hit up Dunya tonight. Ordered enough shawarma + falafel to feed a small village… my kids still wiped it out.
Line was long, place was tight, but I got VIP parking right in front.
We ate on the benches & accidentally became Dunya's outdoor billboard.
People walked by like,'Damn, they're enjoying that.'

We were looking for gluten free options for my celiac buddy, & the person who took our order said they could do the falafel plate, & both mains (chicken & beef) on a plate without the bread or fries (said the fried weren't gf). When our order came there were fries on both plates & the wait staff explained that in fact the fries are gf because there's nothing else cooked in the frier (& no gluten used in the fries). There's definitely a busy kitchen, so definitely a risk of gluten cross contamination, but you can see it all being prepared in front of you. Everything was delicious my celiac bud was very happy!
loveee!! the chicken shawarma is SO good. i normally like beef more but this time the chicken takes it for sure with its toppings/sauce. the fries are super crispy & nice too. very cute spot to grab a quick bite :)
