Tonight was a wonderful birthday experience at Damas!
Everything was exceptional-from the service to the food. Our server, Nick, was amazing & made the night feel special. He surprised me with a heavenly piece of baklava topped with a candle, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The seabass was bursting with flavor, & the filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The drinks were fantastic too-especially the vibrant green one Nick recommended (a great choice!).

We were a party of 14 & did the tasting menu. We were blown away. Every single dish that came out was amazing. That battered ice cream was probably the best ice cream I've ever had. Our server, the somm, the bussers were all so kind & attentive. This was my first time in Montreal & they really set the service standard high. Finally trying Damas, the famous upscale Syrian restaurant in Montreal! I've heard about this place since I was still at McGill, but unfortunately never had the chance to try. I was surprised to see how big the restaurant was; it seemed to span the entire block, & seemed like it took up the space of three restaurants.
While the taste was good, I didn't think it was anything spectacular; nothing tasted elevated or luxurious. It was overpriced & tasting menu items were simply olives or salads or just something small. I wouldn't recommend this place simply because of the price.Voir plus
