Stumbled into Damas on a Tuesday after work & honestly it might be one of the best decisions I've made since moving to Montreal. The lamb kibbeh was absolutely incredible, perfectly spiced & served in a gorgeous, intimate dining room that felt way more special than a random weeknight deserved. Service was warm & attentive without being overbearing, which is rare to find at a place this well-regarded. If you haven't made a reservation yet, do it now because this spot fills up fast even mid-week.
Honestly one of the best if not THE best, novel (to me), unique, & interesting dining experiences of my entire life. If you can splurge on the tasting menu (with the classic wine pairings), DO IT. The dishes are composed of flavour combinations I don't think I'll ever come across again, but to put those flavours together in the way that they did was nothing short of incredible. So unique & so delicious.
La cuisine était exceptionnel & le service excellent. Le soucis vient d'un table adjacente qui criait assez fort pour ne nous soyons pas en mesure à notre propre table. Après leur avoir demandé personnellement sans que cela ne cesse, les serveurs nous ont assuré qu'ils allaient demander au patron de gérer la situation qui n'est jamais venu.
Nous avons décidé de quitter le restaurant sur un note extrêmement amer. Nous atteignons les 100 décibels par moment.
Our server Ayoub (hope I spelled it right) was phenomenal. Very friendly & knowledgeable with some great recommendations!
Service was excellent, quick & efficient but did not make you feel rushed at all.
Food was amazing! Highly recommend the lamb dumplings & the lamb kebab.
Décore is top notch as well, just unique & transformes you to a different country.
A tad pricey but well worth it for the great experience.
My favourite restaurant in Montréal - & it never disappoints.
We visited Damas for a special Mother's Day brunch, & the experience was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The set menu was thoughtfully curated - each dish felt intentional, beautifully presented, & full of flavour. Everything we tasted was delicious.
The service is truly impeccable. The staff strike that perfect balance of warmth & professionalism that's increasingly rare, & it made the occasion feel genuinely special.
Damas has been my go-to restaurant in the city for good reason - the food, the atmosphere, & the hospitality consistently deliver at the highest level. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Montréal, this is the one.

La nourriture est exceptionnelle. Les repas sont riches & variés. Nous avons pris le menu dégustation avec l'accord de vins classiques. Je dois dire que parmi les grands restaurants de Montréal, il est dans les plus dispendieux. Le décor est magnifique & le service impeccable.
Bravo aux deux bonhommes qui pensent que couper du métal avec un grinder de 6:15 am à 7:30 am un Lundi férié c'est correct. C'est pas parceque t'es sur ta terrasse que personne t'entend , manque de savoir vivre flagrant. J'irai plus jamais au Damas.
My goodness I have no words to express how amazing this was. It was my first time trying Syrian cuisine & I loved it. From the waiter (Theo) to the meals, recommendations, wait staff ensuring we had all we need. Thank you! 10/10 🙌🏾

Went to Damas tonight with a friend & as usual, had incredible food - there is not a single bad thing I could say about the flavour profile of any dish.
Where it went downhill was with the service. When we got our bills, I noticed my cocktail was upcharged by $2 when compared to the menu. Not a big deal, but the principle of it is where the problem lies. When I raised it to our waiter, it took 5 minutes of back & forth with the staff before he came back with the corrected bill, a half-baked apology ('we don't usually try to pull this on our customers, but our menu prices really did change this week'), & nothing to make up for the situation.
My friend then notices the same thing, & before she can even show him where the problem was, the waiter proceeds to gaslight her into thinking the price she was charged for her cocktail was actually the price in the menu. I checked after the fact - it was not (see images attached - shai glace/th0 glac0).
For an establishment that prides itself on a refined & memorable experience, this left a really bad taste in my mouth. The last thing I want to be doing when leaving a restaurant is making sure the prices that were listed are in fact the prices that were charged. So disappointing. I would definitely think twice before making a reservation again - there are equally great restaurants in the city that actually engage in fair business practices.
The food was amazing, really tasty & full of flavor. It was on our bucket list & we're happy we went, but honestly not worth that kind of money. We got the dégustation menu at $160 per person, which felt pretty expensive for what you get, i would say 130$ max would be decent. Thank god I filled up on bread lol. Overall we'd definitly go back because the food was really good, but next time we'd just order plates & appetizers
