Le cadre et les cocktails, y compris les options sans alcool et les accords mets et vins, rehaussent l'ensemble et conduisent beaucoup à considérer l'expérience comme digne d'une soirée spéciale. Cependant, certains avis évoquent le prix élevé et des portions parfois inégales selon le plat, ainsi que des retards ou un service qui peut sembler inégal en période d'affluence. Malgré ces réserves, Damas demeure une adresse majeure de Montréal que beaucoup recommandent vivement pour découvrir une cuisine syrienne sophistiquée et profiter d'un moment convivial et raffiné.
Very different experience from our other visits.
Our first three choices from the wine list were not available. Then we were given the bottom of a bottle from the previous night & we had to return it.
Several items on the menu were also missing; notably common items like fries & rice.
The fattoush was very ordinary & the shish taouk portion was smaller & served with bland potatoes.
Twice now we have been very disappointed; won't be going back any time soon.
Almost feels like a change of management?

Way too over priced & overhyped. Similar & better food at other restaurants in Montreal like Kaza Maza. They also emptied a bottle of wine & finished the glass from a second bottle in same glass which is not acceptable especially at an'upscale' restaurant. Would definitely not come back or recommend.
I've gone here for valentines, birthdays, date nights & more - it is by far my favourite restaurant in the city!
Cannot recommend the tasting with wine pairing enough, & if you don't want a full course, we've always had amazing custom menus made by waitress Karin that pair beautifully together for an amazing meal.
Couldn't say anything bad about Damas. The ambiance is incredible & the restaurant has so many cool details throughout. We loved the cold Mezze, shrimp, the braised lamb, & chicken dish. Everything blew us away. The flavor, presentation, & creativity is unmatched in Montréal. In addition our waiter Diego was extremely professional, kind, & knowledgeable on the food & wine. We loved the tea to end the dinner as well
Fantastic restaurant, extremely knowledgeable staff, beautiful decorated, great wine list & som. Love eating here. A little pricey but save up & go, its worth it.

Really savory incredible food with magnificent design to the restaurant. The wine selection was superb.
Our waiter was rather neglectful & seemed annoyed with us but the rest of the staff (hosts, runners, support) were excellent & super friendly.
I'm honestly wowwwed!!! We took the tasting menu with the Mediterranean wine pairing. I am completely impressed with the quality & quantity of food, as well as the wine pairings. You have a lot more than you pay for. Our waiter Patrick & our sommelier John (which is very knowledgeable) were simply amazing. Their service is on point, professional, attentive to details, & just enjoyable. I will definitely recommend & come back without hesitation. Thank you for this beautiful experience!!
From the moment we walked into Damas, we were greeted with warmth & professionalism that set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The atmosphere was inviting, with a perfect balance of class & comfort. But what truly elevated our experience was the outstanding team that took care of us.
Behind the bar, Theo & Kodjo were nothing short of magicians. Their passion for mixology was evident with every drink they crafted. Each cocktail was a masterpiece-perfectly balanced, visually stunning, & bursting with flavor. Theo's creations were bold & innovative, while Kodjo's cocktail suggestions & welcoming personality left us genuinely impressed. It's rare to find bartenders who not only understand the art of cocktails but execute it with such finesse. Their recommendations, paired with Elliot's thoughtful beverage suggestions, created a seamless experience that carried through the evening. Not only were they incredibly skilled, but they were also genuinely friendly & easy to talk with, making the night feel personal & memorable.
Our server, Elliot, was equally exceptional. His attentiveness & kindness made us feel right at home. What really stood out was his knack for wine pairings. Every suggestion he made complemented our dishes flawlessly, enhancing the flavors & making the entire meal feel harmonious. It's clear he has a deep understanding of both wine & food, & his recommendations were spot-on.
Dimitri, who served our dishes, took the experience even further. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, & he took the time to describe each dish with detail & passion. His insights made us appreciate the flavors & ingredients even more.
A special mention goes to Livianne, who ensured our water glasses were always filled with a smile. It's a small gesture that often goes unnoticed, but her attentiveness made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening.
The entire team worked seamlessly to make sure our space was always clean & well-maintained, adding to the relaxed & polished atmosphere.
Damas isn't just a place to eat; it's a place to experience exceptional service, masterful cocktails, & perfectly paired wines. Huge thanks to Theo, Kodjo, Elliot, Dimitri, & Livianne for making our evening truly special. You asked if we were happy? For this amazing moment in time, you helped us feel the happiness found with good food & even greater company. We are infinitely grateful to you all & will never forget you.
The food here is absolutely amazing. Everything we had was phenomenal. We told George, our server,'we trust you. Please pick out our dinner & wine,' & he did not disappoint! The variety & flavor were impressive. The ambiance is romantic & decorated beautifully. My birthday dessert was so unique & tasty. The service was impeccable. The management & staff are also very hospitable.

George took the greatest care of us. We literally trusted him to order our bottle of wine, our appetizers, our entrées, & our dessert; trusting that he wouldn't let us down. If you ever come here, you should rest assured, that once you tell your waiter what you are looking for, they will bring out the most exquisite menu you could imagine. My wife & I have eaten at five star, Michelin star, restaurants around the world, & this is among the top we've ever experienced. If you are looking for a reason to come & book this restaurant, this review should be it. You won't be disappointed!
Exceptional dinner with the tasting menu + wine pairing. All the dishes were incredible & the wines too. Pricing might be on the limit. We paid 1200$ for 3, which can make it hard to recommend on a regular basis.
But if you want to be blown away by incredible savours, no other restaurant in Montreal come close to this one.
Elegantly catered from the door sill to until we exited once again. Exquisite food & wine but following an unscheduled event will demonstrate how Damas employees care for their customers beyond the great ambiance & the menu. After returning home I had a call from Damas Staff telling me they found my wife's wallet (which was not the case), the staff diligently looked at wallet owners lady's last name & went through their guest list to find someone with the identical last name. Smart, delicate I highly recommend !
This is truly a fine dining experience, with a relaxed middle eastern vibe. The flavours are bold & the preparation is somewhat delicate. The wine list is quite extensive with choices from around the world, mostly French wines from diverse regions. On the expensive side, each plate is very generous & enough to share with 6 people. The service is attentive & professional, the music is a bit loud. All in all, great place to celebrate a special occasion with family.
Came here on visit from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The entire service staff was amazing, with a very intentional flow, & an attention to the guest experience that made them really stand out. The tasting menu is a must, & definitely get the wine paring with it. Patrick, our waiter, was there every time we wanted him to be, with an unforgettable smile & charm. John, the sommelier, is the best one we've experienced. Highly knowledgeable about all things wine & pairing but also very personable. He brought a magic to the whole experience that left us simultaneously more knowledgeable about wine, but also feeling more confident in our own ability to judge & experience. This will be a regular stop whenever we come to Montreal. Worth every $$$$
