The food was flavourful & I appreciated the good portions. The atmosphere was decent, nice & colourful bringing the soul of Mexico to you. The one flaw was that the dish was not nearly large enough for the amount of food served, so there was a lot of inadvertent mixing. The enchiladas in particular became quite soggy & I wasn't really able to taste them on their own. The offered salsas are good too. The horchata didn't quite hit the spot for me & was very icy but still refreshing. Service was ok, seemed like there was just two people running the place on this slow night I visited. Overall this is a great pick for real Mexican food, this is the right part of town to look.
The food was amazing the best Mexican restaurant I ever had the sopa azteca was the was really good it tasted like a poutine with a tomato base as a soup the sope had the most amazing juicy steak. This review is written by my 11 year old son.
To add to his review, as someone that has been to many Mexican Restaurants in the US & Canada. This is by far the best most authentic Mexican food in Canada, outside of Mexico. We were a large group of 8, with various requests to taste a bit of everything. We were all happy, full & pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. From the cactus salad, to the sopa azteca & the birria tacos. Hands down, a must try if you're in Montreal.
Very good tacos & amazing hot sauce, highly recommended! They need to improve the beer offer & the music because they only had Corona beer & the music was not Mexican. Small details easy to improve
It's a Mexican spot with excellent seasoning. I chose the chalupa special, which offered a generous portion of several delicious dishes. While the service could be quicker, everything was satisfactory
Small hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood. We did take-out & everything was incredible. Prices are a little higher than some others but quality & quantity was way superior. Our new Mexican spot!
Much more authentic than any of the other mexican instagrammable restaurants. Will definitely return. I've been to Mexico a lot & this is the closest I could find to the flavour there.
