The best pattiserie & croissants in town. Super clean & friendly.
I recommend the latte & the hot chocolate. They were fabulous. We also tried the almond raspberry croissant. It was not bad but it was on the sweet side due to the raspberry jam filling.
The shop has plenty of European products. I was so tempted to buy them but didn't want to carry too much while I was exploring the city. It's worth checking it out if you are looking for some European products or gifts.
There were not many seating at the shop since it's not an actual cafe. I recommend take-out vs dine in.
Wow!!
I travel to Montréal from time to time & every time ´Chez Potier' is my place to go for a nice treat, especially since chef Tilly left the city two years ago. Why ´Chez Potier'? For the intricate desserts & real croissants. As much as I appreciate the multi-element desserts, I can not ignore the lack of good reception. I believe that people who serve the customers, must make an effort to be kinder & more appropriate. If not out of respect to the customers themselves, at least have respect to the chef & all the people, who put heart, imagination, artistry & extremely hard work into making such exquisite pastry. Chapeaux to the creators!
The two stars I took away from my review is for the service. It is not good to assume that your customers would not enjoy time at the shop & load a bag of five croissants, a cake & a hot chocolate to go. It's even worse when you are asked to make their order for in the house, to rudely scold them that next time they better tell you so way in advance, before they wrapped the pastry in the paper bag (the cake was not yet served & the chocolate wasn't even charged). Last November I had similar experience: I was savouring desserts & drinks inside the store. Before leaving, I decided to buy jars of mustard & other gourmand goodies. I again was advised next time to make up my mind in advance, instead of being cashed twice.
Multiple little mentions like this make me feel like I am being an annoyance. Why would I want to come back next time I visit Montréal?!
One of the finest hot chocolate, croissant & desserts. A must visit when in Montreal. They have some amazing range of products to offer.
Amazing croissant, cannelés, Galette des Rois & à multitude of other pastries! Also great local & French imported goods!
I love this place because it adds a very fancy feeling to that quartier/Griffintown because lots of my favourite restaurants are there so every time I can just pass by & buy croissants for next morning. Of course the pastries are so frenchy & so authentic. A good carry on of the traditions I love it! 🥰
Literally amazing & delicate desserts. Tried the classic Paris brest & millefuille. Also recommend the croissant with strawberry compote inside.
Great find, good quality products & a little touch of class, try the feuilles de Vin, very good, & the croissant are Devin, overall great Spot
Overthetop pastries! Amazing croissants in quality 🥐, it is the best we've ever tried in Montreal arriving from France! Great European imports make it a very good place for souvenir shopping
Premiere visite & j'ai bien aimé. Il y a des produits de qualité. Mon cheesecake était DÉLICIEUX. Le croissant est succulent.
Nice ambience in this cafe. I had their Baba au Rhum & my mom had the croissant & it was amazing. My first time to try baba au rhum & I'm glad its theirs. Place looked so neat & they had really good cappuccino. Will be reccomending to my friends
I had the vanilla raspberry cheesecake & a croissant. Both are fabulous. The cheesecake is light with so many flavors , the croissant is buttery & flaky. They also have a huge selection of other goods in store. Great bakery!
