Went for a birthday dinner. Surprisingly not that busy for a Sunday evening in autumn, but we did get there quite early. Drinks are excellent. Creative cocktails, but also a nice wine list. Nice vibes, good windows, warm decor, good tunes, etc etc. Food was delicious. A bit on the more "classic" French-inspired side for a tasting plate menu place like this in Montreal, but that can be refreshing (&, honestly, why fix what's not broken?). Partner (alone) had a duck plate that was advertised as being for multiple people & it certainly was sufficiently sized, but not overwhelmingly so. Also split several of the small plates, including a leek tart which was amazing. Vegetarian options were a bit lacking when we went - only one available, unless you distort the definition of vegetarian to mean including anchovies - but menu is seasonal & seems to be more veggie-friendly depending on the week. Overall, would go back in a heartbeat.
Très belle découverte. Nous avons pris 2 entrées : salade César qui était absolument délicieuse avec des ingrédients frais & bien balancés au niveau des goûts. Je recommande fortement. Ensuite, la tartelette aux poireaux confits avec sa sauce Mornay au fromage de chèvre, un vrai délice. Puis, nous avons commandé un magret de canard, très bien réalisé avec une cuisson parfaite, le canard était tendre à souhait. La sauce demi-glace au cidre un pur délice. Je recommande fortement, très belle carte. Service impeccable & belle ambiance. Carte des vins un peu cher quand même.Mérite d'être améliorée. Cependant, nous avons passé une très belle soirée. Très bel accueil également.
Food: A+, Wine: A++, Service: A+, Style: A+. Great restaurant. I sat at the bar as a single, let the staff choose dishes & wines & they know their stuff! The kitchen was quick & on point. Everything has great balance & some very unique flavours! Would dine again ... & again ....... & again.
Here's what we had & in the order that we liked the food: duck, fish, raw scallops & beef tartare. the beef tartare had too much sauce which made the tartare feel like mush. We also had the chocolate cake for dessert, it was ok but nothing to write home about. It seems like a lot of food but the portions are fairly light & small (except for the duck). Not a fan of natural wines so we opted for cocktails. In all, good food. glad we tried it.
Service? Good. But the wine & food? Let's just say they're not winning any awards. Everything was... fine. Nothing bad, but nothing worth raving about either.
Très belle découverte & adresse dans Villeray ! J'ai adoré le décor, le cadre & les plats bien exécutés. La sélection de vin est bonne mais les prix au verre sont relativement élevés. Les plats que nous avions choisis étaient tous délicieux, cuisinés avec de bons ingrédients. Le magret de canard était cuit à la perfection. Les portions sont relativement bonnes. Très bon service également. Je recommande.
Beau resto sympathique de quartier qui mérite un détour. On vous offre une carte simple mais bien travaillée . Super service reçu au bar . Les plats sont de saison & local. Prix des vins supérieur à la moyenne . Est ce qu'on y retourne 2 fois? OUI

Super belle découverte dans le quartier! De beaux plats à partager pour tous les goûts. Il y a aussi une belle sélection de vins au verre. Nous avons d'ailleurs adoré les recommandations du serveur. Tout était très savoureux & bien exécuté. Le plat de pétoncles était notre préféré. Mention spéciale à la sauce aux anchois qui accompagnait le chou fleur, qui était vraiment délicieuse!
Tout simplement parfait! Accueil chaleureux & un super service pendant toute la soirée, une carte de vin rafraîchissante, de beaux plats exécutés à la perfection, c'est difficile de ne pas apprécier le moment chez Casavant! Nous avons partagé deux entrées (les sublimes pétoncles & le chou-fleur sauce aux poivrons) ainsi que deux plats (le délicieux bar à la grenobloise ainsi que les mafaldine au ragoût de sanglier) & tout était à se rouler par terre. Casavant est une belle découverte!
Tout était excellent ainsi que le service : tartare de boeuf & maquereau, salade César, tartelette provençale & le flétan en pièce de résistance. Carte des vins intéressante, les cocktails étaient très bien préparés.
Incroyable, l'une de mes nouvelles adresses préférées à Montréal. Service, nourriture & ambiance impeccable. Le crudo de pétoncles, le tartare de boeuf & la saucisse maison étaient délicieux. Le plat de pâtes aux crevettes & maïs était tiède malheureusement. Dans l'ensemble, un excellent restaurant de quartier avec des plats bien exécutés.

A great experience all around. Casavant filled the void left by La Récolte with its fantastic market cuisine menu & its great selection of wines. Knowing what that space looked like before, you have to appreciate its gorgeous transformation. Casavant is located on Villeray's pedestrian street (Castelnau), so it also adds a healthy vibe to the neighbourhood. Beyond the delicious food, the service was efficient & the staff were kind & accommodating.
Lovely dinner experience at Casavant! We had the special (a pork chop from Beaurivage, QB), the halibut with clams & chanterelles, tomato salad, & the scallops. All dish were great, the halibut dish was a decent sized portion. Service was impeccable, this place should be on the Montreal Michelin Bib Gourmand list! Lastly - appreciated the non alcoholic drink options 🥹
