Nous avons voulu essayer le restaurant suite à un passage dans le guide Michelin qui stipule que cela est un coup de coeur.
Mais ce fut pas le nôtre de toute évidence.
Le prix & les quantités ne sont pas à notre goût (exemple sur la carte : onglet de boeuf, une fois dans l'assiette il y avait littéralement 2 petits morceaux au prix moyen) il n'y avait rien d'exceptionnel à nos yeux même si le coin jolie & le service était bien même un peu trop ( un bol de crevette commander le serveur nous explique même à quoi sert l'autre bol: là ici c'est un autre bol pour jeter les déchets de vos crevettes une fois décortiqué ) donc pas nos ambiance de prédilection.
Après ils sont à l'écoute même si cela était vraiment pas notre but le serveur nous a demandé si cela était à notre goût? quand nous avons stipulé être déçu des quantités de l'assiette de l'onglet ils nous l'on offert même après leurs avoir dit non nous allons payer car c'était juste pour répondre à sa question mais ils ont insisté & l'on offert.
Mais il est certain que nous y retournerons pas & ne le conseillerons pas dans notre entourage.

Excellent service, both friendly & efficient. I like their cool jellyfish looking light fixture but I wish they had them throughout. Nice decor overall.
Great wine recommendation, Coretto was a lovely espresso-based cocktail.
Oysters were 3 & 3. The fleshy ones were delicious, but the smaller ones were tasteless. Loved the mignonette, wasn't the typical one.
Terrine special was good, but poorly presented. Loved how spicy the mustard was, & the apricot was nice as well.
Scallops were nice, but was expecting more than what amounted to chorizo powder, bits would have worked better I think.
Lamb saddle was delicious & full flavour but a bit too salty.
Chou was delicious but would be better if the crust was slightly crispier.

The scallop is the only one that good
The pasta & lobster were not great..lack of flavour & pasta was very hard & cold
Hanger beef was small size..way too small

Nous sommes arrivés à l'heure à notre réservation, mais nous avons attendus avant d'avoir notre place. Nous étions 4. Le serveur nous a dit qu'il était gêné de mentionner aux clients qu'il y avait d'autres clients en attente. 30 minutes plus tard, la table s'est vidée. Nous avons tout de même apprécié le verre de vin offert en guise d'excuses.

Les entrées étaient bonnes sauf 3 sur 4 étaient trop salées. Quant aux repas, tous étaient trop salés.
Trois était de l'onglet de boeuf accompagné de quelques champignons & rien d'autres.
Le boeuf était très bon mais c'est la sauce qui était trop salée. Moi j'ai commandé le bar…
Quelle déception! Un filet, une sauce le tout trop salé encore une fois & pas d'accompagnements. Alors une petite assiette.

Le hic, c'est à la fin du repas la serveuse est venu nous demander de quitter car il y avait une réservation après nous alors que nous n'avons pas eu droit aux mêmes égards.

Le tout 500$ avec une bouteille de vin.

Nous l'avons essayé mais non, nous n'y retournerons pas.

Was pretty excited to get a chance to try out the food at this restaurant after seeing some posts all over my feed. Overall the food & service was great throughout the night & atmosphere was alright as well.

We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance on Mother's Day. & was politely greeted to our seats when we arrived.

When it came to the food, we really wanted to try out all the dishes, so we ordered & shared the dishes. When it came to the entrees we ordered the side of bread with the garlic spread, we also had the oysters, the salad (SALADE D'ENDIVES POIRE & BLEU, JUS DE VOLAILLE & MIEL) & the scallops (PÉTONCLES FRAIS, CHORIZO DE PASCAL). We really enjoyed the salad (SALADE D'ENDIVES POIRE & BLEU, JUS DE VOLAILLE & MIEL) & scallop (PÉTONCLES FRAIS, CHORIZO DE PASCAL) dishes & definitely recommend getting those to share. As for the mains, we had the fish dish (bar a la grenobloise), pasta (SPAGHETTI PESTO RAPINIS ANCHOIS & MOULES FUMÉES), the sausage dishes (SAUCISSE PURÉE CASAVANT) & the (ONGLET DE BOEUF SAUCE AU POIVRE TOPINAMBOURS & MAITAKE). Among the main dishes, the standouts were the fish & the pasta dishes. We felt the meat dishes were a bit underwhelming.

As for the service, we found it to be very attentive throughout the evening, & the waiting staff answered any questions we had about the menu, & constantly checked up on us to see if the food was to our liking. We also appreciated that they accommodated the service to English. Overall the service was excellent.

When it came to the overall atmosphere, it was alright, nothing amazing. We enjoy the overall location of the restaurant but I'm sure it is much better when the terrace is open during the summer. We just found the seating a bit cramped other than that the interior of the restaurant is nice.

We spent Saturday night at Casavant & had an amazing time! Our server, Claire, paired both of our meals with the best wine we had all weekend in Montreal. She thoroughly explained why she chose both the red & white, & gave us phenomenal recommendations for menu items as well. We loved the snow crab tarte & hanger steak. She was just as lovely as the food! It's no surprise this restaurant made the top 100 list in Canada! We'll never forget it!

Tout était incroyable. Un service impeccable avec de superbes recommandations. La nourriture, de la présentation au goût était selon moi un sans faute.
C'est devenu pour moi une adresse incontournable à Montréal. Merci à Amélie pour la soirée:)
