I had a reservation tonight with my husband & tonight went in a way we did not expect. I do not typically leave bad reviews & we did enjoy everything else but unfortunately this experience could have become very dangerous. My husband has a severe dairy allergy, we had several servers come to the table & we informed them each time of the severe allergy & enquired to make sure nothing had dairy, both tapas & both main meals we had. I know we were speaking english & perhaps that led to the misunderstanding although all servers spoke good english, but it was imperative that nothing included dairy or any form, butter, skimmed milk, milk powder etc & we were assured nothing did. therefore I felt at ease to share a bit of my meal with my partner when he noticed a change in his throat & we knew something was wrong. going from happiness & enjoyment of the space & meal to complete fear for my partner given we had not prepared for an allergic reaction this day specifically. The manager or owner, i'm guessing came to our table, comped our meal & comforted us as it progressed, told us where the nearest hospital, where ubers typically pick somebody up in the old port & for that i'm greatful but it took us a long time to find the uber as we were panicking for his safety & then to be attended at the hospital, thankfully we both got home safely tonight. please I urge your team to improve allergy training, to ensure each & every ingredient is reviewed. there's a big difference between a dairy intolerance & an allergy.

Wowww! What a dinner. I loved everything from the soup to the cod. The orange dessert was also magnificent. But the service was truly the best. Our waiter also spoke Portuguese, French & English. It was a very merry Christmas & I'm so glad we came here.
Authentische, frische Gerichte, die sehr gut abgeschmeckt sind. Dazu passender Wein. Alles bestens! Da der Wein sehr teuer ist in Kanada, sind überall die Rechnungen entsprechend.
On cherchait un endroit au vieux pour prendre un apéro. La plupart des resto voisinant ne laissait rentrer que les gens qui souper. Solmar nous ont accueilli & on a terminé par prendre un apéro & des plats. Tres bonne cuisine & super service.

We really enjoyed our meal here food was awesome I had a steak great flavors! Service was phenomenal the gentlemen there helped us with planing our itinery for our few days in montreal will return next time we come for a visit.Highly recommend.
Service was fantastic. Food seemed overcooked & like it was reheated. However, I'd still give it another try because service & atmosphere were wonderful. There were also unique options & other things I would be willing to try.
Très bon service & bonne cuisine, pour la morue grillée à la portugaise. Bon plat mais onéreux, 40$, selon moi au vu de la simplicité du plat qui est des légumes & un morceau de poisson. Vin au verre au prix un peu excessif aussi.
I had an incredible dining experience ! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm & inviting, with a perfect blend of cozy & chic. The staff were attentive & friendly, providing top-notch service throughout the meal. A special shout-out to our server, Jeremy, who did an amazing job even though it was his first day! He was professional, personable, & made sure our dining experience was flawless. The menu was diverse, offering a great selection of dishes, each one beautifully presented. I tried the Lamb Rack, & it was absolutely delicious-bursting with fresh flavours & cooked to perfection. The grilled octopus also stood out as a unique & flavourful option. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, ambiance, & exceptional service!"
