Le local est super mignon & le personnel vraiment sympathique. Nous avons fait l'activité de fabrication de bougies & nous avons adoré l'expérience. En attendant que la cire durcisse, il y a des jeux de société à disposition pour passer le temps agréablement.
C'est une belle petite activité, abordable & originale. Le café & le chocolat chaud sont également très bons !
This is a must do for your next date night or girly night. This was so fun & definitely allows you to be creative. I love the fact that there is a cafe to get a little beverage or treat while you wait. I also love you don't need to come back to get your candle. Now, it is on the pricier side of things to do for an activity, but it is fun to do nonetheless. I would highly recommend!

I recently booked a spot at Cafe Moonday's candle-making class ($39.95), & it turned out to be the perfect way to spend a rainy spring afternoon in Montreal. While the dreary weather outside could've easily made the day feel bleak, the warm, cozy atmosphere of the cafe immediately made me feel at ease. It was exactly what I needed to shake off the chill & try something new.

The Class:
The candle-making experience was wonderfully intimate & personalized. Each group had its own small table, making it an ideal choice for a date or a group of friends. This setup created a cozy, laid-back vibe that felt just right. The instructors were friendly & incredibly helpful, offering guidance when needed while giving us the freedom to experiment & craft our own unique candles. They walked us through the entire process step-by-step, from selecting up to three fragrance oils to blending them at the perfect temperature before pouring the wax into the jar.
One of the things I really appreciated was that the instructors took care of heating the wax for us, so we could focus on the fun part-mixing our chosen scents. I had a blast experimenting with different combinations & ended up choosing clean cotton, magnolia, & grapefruit. The result? A beautiful candle with a fresh, balanced scent that felt truly personal, & it smells absolutely amazing. I decided to call it'Fresh Bloom.'

Cafe Moonday's candle-making class is an exceptional way to spend a few hours in Montreal, whether you're a local or just visiting. It offers a creative & relaxing escape, where you can unwind while learning something new. If you're looking for a fun, hands-on experience, I highly recommend this class. While waiting for our candles to cool, I enjoyed a delicious latte & a slice of banana bread, & the cafe even had games & puzzles to pass the time-an unexpected but charming touch!
By the end of the class, I walked away not only with a beautifully crafted candle but also with a newfound appreciation for the art of candle-making. It was the perfect way to spend a peaceful, creative afternoon. Whether you're looking to try something new or simply want to relax in a cozy setting, this class is a must-try in Montreal!
Je donnerai 7/10. L'activité est plaisante & différente à faire avec des amies, mais pour plus de 50$ par personne, je m'attendais à plus. La création prend au total max 15 minutes, mais il y a 45 minutes d'attente que la cire durcisse. On trouvait qu'il manquait de directions, on se fait diriger à notre table & ensuite on se fait dire de lire les instructions au mur. Pour la partie café, les choix sont très limités (mais on a aimé ce qu'on a choisi. Pas vraiment un endroit pour manger, il y a 3 sortes de biscuit, c'est tout). Overall, on s'est quand même amusées mais je n'y retournais pas.
Belle expérience, mais une activité quand même chère. C'est le fun de pouvoir choisir & faire des mélanges de senteur. Aussi, les jeux de société & le café furent plaisants durant le temps d'attente. Par contre, j'ai l'impression que la chandelle était déjà trop figée quand on me l'a redonnée pour que les décorations à placer dessus tiennent en place. Perso je trouve que la chandelle ne sent pas très fort une fois allumée. À essayer 1 fois selon moi! il y avait seulement 2 autres tables quand je suis allée un lundi!

Je vais raccourcir mon commentaire pour aller plus droit au but; pour les points positifs: -Note à l'animatrice de l'atelier, une petite française (?) blonde foncée, assez grande, (je ne sais pas son prénom) qui était un véritable rayon de soleil! service exemplaire:) merci à elle!!) -Concept sympa, joli lieu Points négatifs: -A part à l'animatrice évoquée plus haut, deuxième fois que je viens, & deuxième constat, on a l'impression que personne n'a envie de travailler ici/qu'on dérange. Pas de sourire pdt 2h (de la personne au comptoir au responsable qui nous tasse trois fois pour partir après l'atelier) -Ambiance peu chaleureuse, & nourriture/café pas particulièrement bons.. Malheureusement nous ne reviendrons pas. Mais espérons de l'amélioration puisque le concept de base etait sympa… dommage!
