Although the plates were hot, the food itself was not even warm. The seafood share platter was missing the cod. We would not recommend this restaurant for everyday dining or special occasions.
Food was fantastic, as expected. Service, despite the managers efforts to adjust the bill, offer apologies & clear our table himself (dirty plates for at least 20min) was simply abysmal. We were basically ignored as others around us got drinks & food while we sat with empty glasses & plates.
When we received our adjusted bill (free drinks for such unsatisfactory service) staff continued to serve other tables & didn't seem interested in payment. I waited at least 15min, finally got up & put the bill & payment on the hostess stand, collected my families coats myself & left.
We come to Tremblant annually & will never return or recommend it to groups we travel with (usually 100+).
A truly embarrassing experience.
Amazing meal for my wife's birthday dinner - the service was great, all the staff were super friendly & accommodating, & the food was wonderful, especially the veal cheek & duck duo.
Fantastic establishment on all fronts. Eat here everytime I'm in Tremblant. Typically being a younger person going out to fine dining I don't always get treated the same as everybody else but this place never lets me down. Jesse is my go to server & one of the best I've ever had at any restaurant.
Choux Gras certainly qualifies as a fine dining restaurant & generally lives up to the Fairmont Hotels standard. We've been to 4 so far. The part of the meal that stands out the most was our waiter, Jesse, who is very experienced & attentitive. He noticed that our oysters were taking too long to come out of the kitchen so he came back twice to apologize for the delay & then when he delivered them to our table he announced our cocktails were on the house.
The oysters were good ones from New Brunswick, the presentation was ordinary.
My wife's filet mignon was perfectly cooked but a little cool by the time it hit the table. I had a delicious appetizer that included fois gras & some figs but the young lady who served us but didn't explain it. Sorry if that sounds picky, but it's one of those details that you expect fine dining restaurants to be attentive to. Same goes for the busboy who started to remove my delicious but still unfinished onion soup.
The venue is quite nice & decorated in a tidy modern style but the acoustic experience was not so pleasant. The restaurant shares the bar with the adjacent establishment so there is an opening between the two of them. That evening there was a noisy cocktail party going on at the bar & the noise from it was very noticeable. Top that off with a background music playlist that sounded like a piano bar singer on Valium singing old pop & rock songs with a computer for a backup band. One employee (not Jesse) mentioned that this playlist has been going on for 5 years & it has become tortuous. So I recommend you wear your ear pods or plugs to enhance your dining experience.
Staff/service we're very nice & welcoming. The staff were very attentive to mine & my husband's allergies which we really appreciated. Atmosphere is great, loved the decor & our chairs were very comfortable.
Was very disappointed by our meal here, however. I picked somewhere in the village that was nice for mine & my husband's first wedding anniversary. We both enjoyed our mocktail, the bread & our starters, but nothing overly special. The mains, however we're small in portion size (especially given the price point), we both found the meat (duck/steak) weren't cooked well & not super flavourful. We opted to leave before dessert. It's a shame because it's such a beautiful location.
J'adore venir au Choux Gras.
La nourriture est exquise, le service fabuleux.
Tout pour une soirée parfaite
This might just be the best restaurant in town- highly recommended.
We had an overall positive experience. The chicken with fois gras & grilled seafood were excellent. Very filling. Our server was good but only 2 for a restaurant is not enough as others have commented. Expect to pour your own glasses.
Fine dining in the village! Hands down the finest restaurant in the Mont Tremblant whole region.
Our waiter his Carlos was very knowledgeable about menu & his recommendations were spot on. We took the lobster & piglet with scallop- excellent choices
For the main papardelle with clams & duck breast ( medium rare!!! Is a must) with a fanciful chocolate based reduction
Don't forget the NB oysters! Best ever!
Cocktails were well done
We were staying at the Fairmont & looked forward to a special family meal in celebration of late Mothers Day. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The food was underwhelming/attaching the poor chicken. Meal was not reflective of the high price point. The only thing I could enjoy were my son's fries
Service attentionné, décors chaleureux & plats invitants & délicieux
Great service, the server was knowledgeable & friendly. The oysters were tasty & flavorful. The seafood shared entree was good but missing the gnocchi which our server quickly addressed. The cocktails were delicious too! Small menu but everything we had was delicious
