Bous is hands down one of the best Persian restaurants I've been to. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Every dish was perfectly seasoned & tasted authentic, with generous portions & high-quality ingredients.
The service was warm, attentive, & welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Omar, who was absolutely excellent-professional, friendly, attentive, & genuinely made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, making it perfect for both a casual dinner & a special occasion. The kebabs were exceptionally tender, the rice was perfectly prepared, & the appetizers were outstanding. You can truly tell that a lot of care goes into every detail.
If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine & exceptional service, I highly recommend Bous. We will definitely be back!
?An absolutely incredible experience from start to finish!
From the moment you step through the door, you are immediately captivated by an atmosphere that is both elegant & luxurious. The stunning interior decor, beautifully sourced directly from Iran, adds a captivating & authentic depth to the upscale ambiance. It is the perfect setting for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself to an exceptional evening. The welcome is incredibly warm, with an attentive & highly professional staff who make you feel comfortable right from the very first moments.
The evening started beautifully with the discovery of their original cocktail menu. The creations are bold, perfectly balanced, & bring a welcome touch of modernity that beautifully introduces the meal. For wine lovers, their selection is equally impressive, featuring a remarkably curated wine list composed of exceptional private imports that pair beautifully with the complex flavors of the menu.
As for the food, Persian cuisine is truly elevated to an art form here. The dishes are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious to taste. Special mention goes to the texture of the bread, the refinement of the eggplant & yogurt appetizers-subtly enhanced with herbs-& the must-try crispy rice, a masterpiece of culinary mastery. The chicken skewers & slow-cooked meats (like the lamb, which was absolutely tender) are remarkably well-executed, rich in flavor without ever being heavy. To finish, the traditional desserts bring a floral, refreshing, & incredibly delicate note.
In short, Bous is a must-visit address if you are looking for a refined Persian table, impeccable service, an outstanding private import wine selection, & a sophisticated, visually breathtaking environment. A memorable experience that I recommend without a shadow of a doubt!
An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The restaurant is located in a premium area & has a beautiful interior design that perfectly balances minimalism & elegance. The Persian rugs & artwork add a sophisticated cultural touch, creating a warm yet upscale atmosphere.
The food was absolutely delicious & there were excellent vegetarian options available. We tried the vegetarian Ghormeh Sabzi with Tahchin, & the combination was outstanding; rich, flavorful, & beautifully prepared.
The drink menu was equally impressive, featuring unique signature cocktails inspired by Persian ingredients & flavors. Every drink felt creative & thoughtfully crafted.
The staff were friendly, attentive, & highly professional, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for elevated Persian cuisine, great cocktails, & a refined dining atmosphere.
Montreal has long been missing a truly modern Persian fine dining experience & presentable as modern Persian food, & Bous may finally be the restaurant to fill that gap.
From the moment you walk in, the space feels intentional: beautifully designed, modern minimalist, with Persian motifs integrated intelligently & subtly rather than stereotypically. Even though they are still in their soft launch phase, the operation already feels remarkably polished & well executed.
They do not yet have an alcohol permit, but honestly, after trying the Persian-inspired mocktails, you can already imagine how exceptional the full beverage program could become.
The appetizers were the real stars of the evening. The Kashk Bademjan, served almost like a tartare, was creative & refined while still deeply rooted in Persian flavors. The Mast-o-Khiar was elegant & balanced, the Persian-inspired chicken wings were surprisingly sophisticated, & the vegetarian Tah-chin was excellent, all paired with freshly baked Persian brown Sangak bread.
The mains continue the same philosophy: Persian cuisine thoughtfully adapted into a contemporary fine dining language without losing its identity. The confit duck with Fesenjoon was an especially clever & successful fusion, & the lamb shank with Ghormeh Sabzi was rich, comforting, & highly approachable for a broader Western palate while remaining unmistakably Persian.
Desserts were equally memorable. The cinnamon tea, Faloodeh, & especially the Halva ice cream, presented almost as a Persian-style profiterole, showed real creativity & restraint.
A couple of things worth noting: this is not meant to be a traditional casual Persian restaurant experience. It is clearly positioned as fine dining, with the pricing, portions, presentation, & pacing that come with that territory. Going in with the right expectations makes all the difference.
The service was warm, professional, & attentive throughout the evening.
Honestly, Bous feels like a restaurant with the ambition & potential to become the first Persian restaurant in Montreal to seriously aim for Michelin recognition.
Overall Experience
The restaurant attracts a crowd mostly between 25 & 55 years old, including couples, families, & friend groups. The atmosphere is calm, with jazz music & Persian-inspired interior design. Expect to spend around CAD $120-190 for two people. Everything is halal, & they also offer mocktails.
The space is beautiful & very cohesive. I loved the color palette of brown, dark grey, beige, & burgundy, as well as the Persian-inspired details such as the hanging carpet & arched kitchen entrance. The branding is subtle & never overwhelming. The jazz music with Persian influences really enhances the experience.
The service was attentive & overall super good top 3 best service i've had. I especially appreciated that the server asked me to taste the water to make sure the temperature was right for me. Serving water in a wine-style bottle was another nice touch.
A few details could be improved. The single light bulb near the entrance feels random without a matching element on the opposite wall. The linen napkins fit the aesthetic but leave lint on clothing. The restrooms are gender-neutral & somewhat narrow, although the dark blue tiles & adjustable lighting were nice surprises.
Food
Golden Square Mile Tahchin - 4/10
Beautiful presentation, but the flavours felt unbalanced. The herbs & berries were overwhelmingly sour, & the crispy rice was overcooked & extremely hard. The dish needed something creamy or slightly sweet to bring everything together. It also felt as though it had been sitting for a while before being served.
Joojeh kebab - 6/10
Creative presentation & well-cooked chicken, although slightly overdone. The pickled onions were the highlight of the dish & unexpectedly stole the show. The bread became soggy from the juices, & the dish became repetitive after a few bites. It needed a bolder flavour profile to match the restaurant's modern concept.
Shishlik - 7/10
Good flavour overall, but the lamb was slightly chewy. Combined with the hard bread, there were too many tough textures on the plate. The presentation was attractive, although the plate felt too small. The pepper was very spicy, & I would have appreciated a warning.
Borani Bademjoon - 8/10
A refreshing & enjoyable side dish. The cold yogurt worked beautifully after the grilled meats. Some eggplant pieces were too large, & the grilled garlic was a bit overpowering, but overall it was one of the stronger dishes.
Final Thoughts
The atmosphere, design, music, & service are the restaurant's biggest strengths. The food is visually appealing & creative, but several dishes need better flavour balance & texture. Overall, it's a beautiful dining experience with plenty of potential.
Absolutely loved our experience at Bous Persian Cuisine. The restaurant has such a beautiful contemporary design, making it feel elegant & warm at the same time. The food was amazing, with portions that were just right, enough to enjoy every bite without feeling too heavy. We also had the faloodeh, a Shirazi original dessert, & it was absolutely delicious & refreshing. This is the kind of place that feels perfect for a date night, a small celebration, a work dinner, or honestly any excuse to spend a beautiful evening in a lovely Persian restaurant. The service was wonderful, & everyone who took care of us was so kind & attentive. We also had the chance to meet one of the owners, who was incredibly welcoming & warm, which made the whole night feel even more special.
Will definitely go back again & highly recommend it to everyone! 😍😍😍
Bous Restaurant delivers one of the most elevated Persian dining experiences I've had in Montreal. The atmosphere feels modern & intimate without losing the warmth of Persian hospitality, & every dish looked beautifully curated.
The kebab was incredibly juicy & flavorful with that perfect charcoal-grilled taste. The tahchin was executed perfectly - crispy, golden, & honestly one of the highlights of the meal.
The desserts were a standout too - delicate, not overly sweet, & plated like fine dining. The atmosphere was intimate & modern, with a calm aesthetic that made the whole experience feel special. Service was attentive & welcoming throughout the night.
