It is very overpriced & live up to its longtime reputation as the restaurant that give small servings for prices that will give you more quantity elsewhere in the area. Two months ago I made the mistake of going back for a take-out order & serves me right to be handed the second time dried out pieces of meats chicken this time, previously it was a case of some dehydrated morsels of seafood as if they had too much excess protein supply in their kitchen & not enough orders to use them while fresh. I know everything costs more now post-pandemic but the other restaurants around that I have continued to patronize are thankfully maintaining their quality & quantity at still reasonably raised prices.
Amazing atmosphere, excellent service & super attentive. The pineapple chicken & fried rice top quality. I count the days to comeback. :)
Pleasant surprise. Enjoyed a shared dish of Singapore noodles with chicken & shrimp. Delicious & filling.
Oh, Beijing Chinese Restaurant in Montreal! Where do I even begin with this culinary marvel? From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for something truly... memorable.
The General Tao chicken was, without a doubt, a masterclass in... well, chicken. Each piece was a testament to the chef's bold vision, perfectly capturing that elusive balance of'chicken' &'sauce.' & the vegetable fried rice? A symphony of grains & what I can only assume were vegetables, each grain standing proudly on its own, refusing to be overshadowed by any mere flavor.
Then came the breaded shrimp - a revelation! The breading was so robust, so confident, it almost made you forget there was a shrimp somewhere inside. A true triumph of texture. & the egg rolls? Crispy, yes, undeniably crispy. They certainly held their shape, which is more than one can say for some lesser egg rolls.
But the pièce de résistance, the crowning glory, was the Chinese broccoli. It was green. It was leafy. It was... broccoli. A minimalist's dream, showcasing the raw, unadulterated essence of the vegetable.
In summary, if you're looking for an experience that challenges your perceptions of'delicious' & leaves you with a lingering sense of... something, then Beijing Chinese Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Five stars for daring to be so uniquely... itself!
We tried this place today on our trip to Montreal. Unfortunately it was pretty bad. Honestly, Panda Express taste better & that's not saying much. The steamed dumplings were disgusting with a smathering of really sweet peanut sauce on top. Next was the Noodle dish we ordered, noodles were ok but the beef tasted gamey & was really tough. Then we ordered Chicken Fried rice, had a terrible after taste. Last, we ordered the General Tao Chicken, tasted way too fried & had too much breading, almost like a chicken nugget with sauce. We payed $72 Canadian including tip. Do not recommend this place, we did not even complain, we felt kind of bad since hardly anyone was in eating there. The good that came after this is since we barely ate any of the food, we were able to give it to a homeless man & made his day.
Been here tons of time never had any issues till recently food is over cooked not enough meat in kungpao chicken but the fried wonton are the best & they demanded a tip & this is the second time they demanded a tip probably wont be going here anymore tipping is a right of the customer & should not be forced apoun people
I loved that Chinese restaurant, very welcoming staff. Free tea with you meal, very good way to clean your palate between each bite. The dumpling in spicy peanut sauce wasn't spicy at all but damn it was good !! The general Tao was the best I've eaten in a while. Very sweet sauce, crunchy chicken filet & generous portion for the price. I highly recommend the General Tao! I also tried the pork salt & spices & it was really good portion for the price & oh damn it was yummy 🤤 The chow mein Beijing had noodles too crunchy for my taste but it was okay taste wise.
This is the best Chinese food restaurant in Montreal. The portions are great, & the food quality is outstanding. Everything is freshly made & piping hot as it hits the table. This place is so good we ate there twice. I recommend the General's Beef, General's chicken, & lemon chicken. Both of these dishes are stellar. This restaurant was located within walking distance from our hotel on St. Catherine St.
Try the Beijing Chow Mein & the General Tao Chicken - so good! Great, fast service.
The pad thai was extremely salty… we couldn’t even finish half of it. The sweet & sour chicken came unbreaded with sliced vegetables that were huge & uninviting to eat. Will not be coming here again.
I am a realtor & I often eat out & entertain my clients. We ordered via "uber eats". Total bill was over $145. Part of the order had a soup. Specifically asked for soup cups or bowls, plates & utensils & they completely forgot all of it. I honestly could not justify "value for money". Fried rice, 2 chicken dishes (which barely had chicken but full of veggies), 2 shrimp dishes (barely had shrimps but full of veggies), egg rolls (which was not fresh at all & horrible) & vegetarian hot & sour soup for whopping $26!!! like really? wow!!.. & our total was $161 & change.. seriously!! It was raining, if not we could have gone to a beautiful fine dining place probably would have eaten more & paid less?
My wife & I love Beijing restaurant food; high quality & tasty Chinese food in china town. I love their Chicken Chow Mein, Beef & two kind mushrooms & salt & spicy Shrimp. However it should be noted that the decoration is very simple like other standard Chinese restaurants.
