From the team behind Ristorante Beatrice, Améa is a Mediterranean-inspired gourmand resto / pizzeria + coffee shop nestled within Montreal’s historic Maison Alcan building.
Derived from the French word "âme" meaning soul, Améa is an ode to the vision, warmth and heart behind our menu.
Améa Café se présente comme un espace vaste et élégant, avec une ambiance cosy et lumineuse qui invite aussi bien à travailler qu’à se détendre, et une offre variée de boissons, de pâtisseries et de plats méditerranéens où chaque détail visuel semble soigné. Les avis mettent en avant des desserts et des viennoiseries frais et créatifs, des croissants pistache et des croissants supreme, un café de qualité et des options brunch ou lunch appréciables, parfois complétés par des pizzas ou des plats nourrissants. Le cadre attire par ses nombreuses places et ses zones dédiées au travail ou au calme; toutefois la fréquentation peut être bruyante et les files d’attente longues, et certaines portions sont jugées petites ou les prix élevés pour ce qu'elles apportent. I had a nice experience at this cafe. All the desserts & brunch options felt very fresh & had a nice creative touch to them, which I appreciated. It's a solid spot if you're looking for something a bit different than your usual cafe menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Excellent vibes, artistic interior design & wide space. Very cozy environment to chat & work, or just to chill out alone. Kids & adults all have place to stay & find their comfortable zone. Fair price with well attentive staff. Sandwiches is freshly made so during weekend rush hour could be a bit slow, yet pizzas are faster from my observation. Coffee service was efficient. Very innovative & artistic style bathroom as well. Gender neutral.

Upscale cafe in beautiful architectural setting. I had the panzanella salad with chicken added. The salad was huge, fresh, filled with huge heirloom tomatoes, nectarines, plums, olives, homemade croutons that soaked up a delicious vinaigrette made with excellent olive oil. The chicken was disappointing: thin slices of bland, ungrilled, generic chicken. This is a place for a quick lunch to impress. I just wish they would post or tweet when they are closed to the public for a private event.
Had a great time at Amea Café. Food was fresh, tasty, & flavorful. The atmosphere is pleasant. Very spacious & bright. Loved the experience & hospitality. I definitely recommend it & i will certainlt go back.
The french toast was incredible & the round stuffed croissant dessert (not sure what it's called) was amazing. The crustini gravlax was awesome. Fresh & clean ingredients.
Loved the place, the food was excellent & very tasty. You can tell that they use very good quality ingredients. The place looks amazing, & I felt relaxed & enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was a bit long when we went there, around 1 pm, but the very friendly & kind staff were amazing. They took the time to explain the menu & even gave recommendations. & the pastries....lord have mercy! Will come back for more that's for sure.
Overall, fresh food & ingredients, amazing pastries, & an awesome atmosphere. Recommend the place & I will come back. Thank you for the nice meal. 😁

Massive dining area. Order at the counter & then brought to your table. Many fresh options for sweet or savoury. Loud atmosphere & many students there doing school work.
A lovely spot to relax in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is calm & stylish, with a beautiful view of the greenery outside. The cappuccino was excellent & the croissant fresh & delicious. I was just a little disappointed that there was no grilled cheese on the menu. Still, it's a cozy place I'd be happy to return to!
AMEA Coffee is a hidden gem! Not only is the coffee fantastic, but they also have a bakery inside with delicious croissants, pizza, & a great variety of Mediterranean food. Everything we tried was fresh & full of flavor.
Huge thanks to NADIA for her warm hospitality & helping us choose the best items - her service was truly exceptional. Can't wait to go back!
Had an awesome late morning at Café Améma with my 13-year-old son & nephew on Saturday. The place was buzzing with energy, but the service was still quick & super friendly. Even with the rush, everything came out fresh & fast.
I had the gnocchi, which was packed with flavor, & we shared the burrata so creamy & delicious. The vibe was just right modern, relaxed, & welcoming for all ages.
After a couple of hours of chilling & enjoying ourselves, we realized just how great of a place it was-comfortable, inviting, & the kind of spot you just want to hang out at.
Before heading out, I couldn't resist sneaking in a cannoli for dessert & I'm so glad I did. Perfectly crispy, creamy, & just the right amount of sweet. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!
This place is gorgeous. Quite busy during lunch time but that's a given. My sister & I were kind of annoyed that it was so expensive, but when we started eating we understood why. It was worth every penny! Delicious & fresh flavors & fair portions. We had the kale salad & the shakshuka with coffees. Definitely coming back!
Super cool atmosphere, loved this hidden spot in downtown. Tumeric latte was very special if you like the taste of tumeric in cafe. I loved the Avocado mushroom toast, very fresh. Kannafe & matcha cookie were nice choices.

Loved the food, coffee & experience. The strawberry pain dorée is a must try, very fresh, shakshouka was good too. Variety of options to choose from, Service was fast & waiters were very nice. Many seatings available on Sunday if you go before 10:30 am. Greenery & art all over the place which is also nice. It closes at 4 pm thats only the downside but otherwise I recommend it.
It's a self-service cafe/restaurant but the person serving me behind the counter gave me excellent recommendations for my first time here & I highly appreciated it! It truly elevated my experience & I'm so grateful! The blueberry almond croissant is amazing & hit the spot (not too sweet but excellent fresh texture) & I can't wait to try my crookie later! The coffee is good! I look forward to the opportunity to come back! 😊
Fresh & health, & no burden for your stomach. Recommend to take the sandwich " porchetta & smoke cacciocavallo", full mouth of the meat,it is delicious!
