Amalia Montréal est un joyau culinaire niché au cœur de Westmount, qui apporte à Montréal les saveurs vibrantes et l'hospitalité chaleureuse d'une cuisine d'inspiration portugaise.
Globalement Amalia ressort comme une adresse portugaise chaleureuse et conviviale où l'ambiance cosy et festive et le cadre élégant invitent à rester, et où la cuisine genereuse et bien executee est au coeur de l'experience. Les plats de fruits de mer et de grillades se demarcquent par leur fraicheur et leur saveur, avec des coups de coeur pour le crudo de pétoncles, le poulpe et les calamars, la paella et le plateau mixte; les desserts comme le pouding chomeur et les natas font aussi partie des satisfactions pour certains. Le service est generalement attentif et professionnel, les cocktails creatifs et bien equilibrés et le personnel sait guider les choix et s'adapter aux allergies, mais quelques avis signalent des delais d'attente plus longs et des plats arrivant tièdes ou secs, et certains trouvent les prix eleves par rapport a l'experience. Malgré cela, Amalia est souvent recommandée pour une sortie entre amis ou en couple, pour une occasion speciale ou une soiree gourmande, et donne envie de revenir pour revivre cette combination de saveurs portugaises, de convivialite et de belle presentation.

The bacalhau croquettes, chicken wings, & the mixed grill (offered for 2 or 4) were all beyond perfect; beautiful presentation, plenty of food (ordered with fries), & all meats/seafood cooked to perfection.
Bonus: The espresso martinis made with pastel de nata cream was easily the best espresso martini I've ever had, & dessert was perfectly balanced with them.
Great vibes, wonderful service, great music… already counting down until our next visit! 😍
It was an excellent evening, went for an'end of year dinner' with my office staff. The vibes & ambiance were excellent, easy to have conversations. Staff were friendly & accommodating, provided suggestions as well. All, the appetizers made to perfection shared amongst 4 people. & as a main the'Paella' gives you some of everything & easy to share amongst 2. Had to end the night with their dessert of the night.

We dined in Amalia last night on Chefs Table , I think because we were 8 people , we were literally at the kitchen soooo nosiey & lack of ambience. Then came the waitress & took orders like around 9 pm & the food served 11.15 pm ! What ! when we asked why they said the restaurant is packed. ?? We witnessed the whole chaos in the food serving area.
Last but not least, we specifically asked a full body red wine & agreed with the waitress on Porteguse one. The wine was was far from full body :( Then the somelier came & we complianed about the wine on the table , he said the wine choice was wrong & offred another bottle with 20% discount.
Every one had 1 main dish & we shared 4 entrees , 1 bottle of wine ane only 1 dessert. The food was so so , paella was better then the meat dishes.
My recommendation; the whole experience was not woth a 100 CAD per person.
Great vibe, with a beautiful, cozy ambience. Lea, our server, doted on us, warmly chatting with us & educating about the drink ingredients & desserts, etc.
The chicken on the salad I chose was outstanding (an incredible char/smoke flavour); the dressing was superb; the portion very generous.
The drink, a purple haze, was so yummy, as was my companion's drink, a variation of an espresso martini.
Can't wait to return again for a full meal.
Dîner sur la terrasse par une magnifique journée de septembre. La terrasse a du potentiel… Le loup de mer entier était délicieux, cuit parfaitement, & un grand coup de coeur pour le dessert de natas & crème glacée. Le service de Lea Jade a été plus que parfait. Merci!
I had the pleasure of visiting Amalia for lunch with my boss, & everything about the experience was excellent. We were lucky to have Lea as our server, & she was truly fantastic-attentive to our needs, warm, & thoughtful with her recommendations.
Based on her suggestions, we ordered the chicken salad & the shrimp & chorizo bowl, both of which were delicious & beautifully presented. For dessert, we tried the nata with ice cream, & it was the perfect sweet ending. I also requested the piri piri sauce on the side, & it was absolutely spot on.
From start to finish, the service, food, & presentation exceeded expectations. I would recommend Amalia with eyes closed-a wonderful dining experience I'll definitely repeat!

✨ Une expérience culinaire mémorable chez Amalia ! Chaque plat était un vrai délice - le poulet, juteux & parfaitement cuit, était tout simplement irrésistible. En dessert, nous avons partagé un trio gourmand qui a ravi tout le monde, avec une mention spéciale pour l'Oreo frit & une tarte accompagnée de crème glacée dont le nom m'échappe, mais pas le goût incroyable 😋. Le cocktail Caipirinha Amélia était une explosion de saveurs, un vrai régal pour les papilles.
L'ambiance du restaurant, avec sa décoration vintage & élégante, ajoute une touche magique à l'expérience. Je recommande vivement ce lieu à tous ceux qui cherchent à allier plaisir gustatif & atmosphère charmante. Bravo à toute l'équipe ! 👏
I went to Amália for my birthday, what a lovely discovery. Everything was perfect. We had the octopus carpaccio & fried calamaries as appetizer & the grilled plate for main. It was more than enough for 5 people that actually can eat & sooooo delicious. For dessert.. Fried oreo, pastei de nata & ice cream.. 10/10!! Definitely will go back
