Globalement Amalia ressort comme une adresse portugaise chaleureuse et conviviale où l'ambiance cosy et festive et le cadre élégant invitent à rester, et où la cuisine genereuse et bien executee est au coeur de l'experience. Les plats de fruits de mer et de grillades se demarcquent par leur fraicheur et leur saveur, avec des coups de coeur pour le crudo de pétoncles, le poulpe et les calamars, la paella et le plateau mixte; les desserts comme le pouding chomeur et les natas font aussi partie des satisfactions pour certains. Le service est generalement attentif et professionnel, les cocktails creatifs et bien equilibrés et le personnel sait guider les choix et s'adapter aux allergies, mais quelques avis signalent des delais d'attente plus longs et des plats arrivant tièdes ou secs, et certains trouvent les prix eleves par rapport a l'experience. Malgré cela, Amalia est souvent recommandée pour une sortie entre amis ou en couple, pour une occasion speciale ou une soiree gourmande, et donne envie de revenir pour revivre cette combination de saveurs portugaises, de convivialite et de belle presentation.
We were a group of 6 on friday & we had a great time. Their drinks are really & pretty much anything we ordered hit the spot. For groups i highly suggest to share the mixed grills & the paella.... but make sure you don't skip out on the pouding chomeur (yes not very Portugese, but it beats their natas by a long shot!)
We went to Amalia on Valentine's Day & had an amazing experience! The food & drinks were incredible, but the service truly made it outstanding. Tony & Xavier went above & beyond & made us feel so welcomed.
Highly recommend - 11/10! We'll definitely be back & can't wait to try their sister restaurant, Sel Noir.

went with my better half & her mom. We walked in & the place was really quiet… then a young lady & young man appeared & asked if we had reservations the answer was yes & we were seated. First impression was oh boy… then we were asked if we were Super Bowl fans & then it dawned on us that it was quiet because of that. We got menus & selected some drinks they arrived bang on super tasty the menu was simple & everything looked fantastic we ordered appetizers & again were blown away. The music was playing in the background nice boss nova versions of classic songs had me toe tapping in no time! Then we ordered food. I had the steak & the table had the chicken & gnocchi again totally floored with how good the food was & how impeccable the service was. The duo that was working made sure the table was well taken care of from water to follow up visits to general pleasant conversation. I can't wait to go there again & get a real feel for the vibe of the place when it's packed!! Lia thank you for your excellent service, professionalism & honesty!!
I went for a business lunch meeting & it was the perfect vibe!
Food & service was really spot on. I ended up calling my girls to end the night with drinks & more tapas!

Tony our server was fantastic! He went above & beyond his regular duties. One of the guests lost their cellphone & he did every thing to retrieve it & still managed to give us exceptional service as we were running late for our concert.
The food & drinks were amazing! Best espresso martini I've ever had!!
Definitely be back next time we are visiting Montreal.
Great vibe, with a beautiful, cozy ambience. Lea, our server, doted on us, warmly chatting with us & educating about the drink ingredients & desserts, etc.
The chicken on the salad I chose was outstanding (an incredible char/smoke flavour); the dressing was superb; the portion very generous.
The drink, a purple haze, was so yummy, as was my companion's drink, a variation of an espresso martini.
Can't wait to return again for a full meal.
We were there for a light lunch & a couple of cocktails after a rough morning & were absolutely charmed & doted upon by our lovely waitress Lea. The chicken was perfectly cooked & to die for, the drinks were delicious; flavourful without being too sweet or too strong. Truly a gem of a place!

Première fois dans ce magnifique restaurant & certainement pas la dernière ! J'ai tout adorée, la nourriture était EXCELLENTE, les drinks super bon & le service incroyable l'équipe était super gentille.
We had a truly wonderful evening at Amalia. From start to finish, the experience was warm, festive, & delicious. We were in great company with Desmond & Théo, who helped make the evening even more special.
The food was outstanding. The Piri Piri chicken was tender, flavorful, & cooked to perfection. I highly recommend starting with the fried gnocchi - absolutely addictive - & the octopus salad, which was fresh & beautifully balanced.
The wine pairings were thoughtfully selected & complemented the meal wonderfully. Feeling festive, we also indulged in a few cocktails, all crafted with care & expertise - true to the art of mixology.
Amalia is a fantastic spot in Montreal for anyone looking for excellent food, great drinks, & a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
What an amazing experience! The Portuguese chicken was hands down the best I've had, so flavorful & perfectly cooked. The oysters with piri piri sauce were a game-changer, & the cod croquette? Easily one of the best I've ever tasted, crispy, light, & packed with flavor. Every bite felt like a trip to Portugal!
The drinks were just as impressive, & to top it all off, our server Julieta was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, always smiling, & made sure we had the best experience. Huge kudos to her for her kindness & great service!
