Globalement Amalia ressort comme une adresse portugaise chaleureuse et conviviale où l'ambiance cosy et festive et le cadre élégant invitent à rester, et où la cuisine genereuse et bien executee est au coeur de l'experience. Les plats de fruits de mer et de grillades se demarcquent par leur fraicheur et leur saveur, avec des coups de coeur pour le crudo de pétoncles, le poulpe et les calamars, la paella et le plateau mixte; les desserts comme le pouding chomeur et les natas font aussi partie des satisfactions pour certains. Le service est generalement attentif et professionnel, les cocktails creatifs et bien equilibrés et le personnel sait guider les choix et s'adapter aux allergies, mais quelques avis signalent des delais d'attente plus longs et des plats arrivant tièdes ou secs, et certains trouvent les prix eleves par rapport a l'experience. Malgré cela, Amalia est souvent recommandée pour une sortie entre amis ou en couple, pour une occasion speciale ou une soiree gourmande, et donne envie de revenir pour revivre cette combination de saveurs portugaises, de convivialite et de belle presentation.
J'ai commandé le menu steak frites, déjà pour commencer, menu à emporter sans ustensiles, sans fourchette sans culière rien , le steak omg degeulas, c'est super amer ça n'a aucun goût normal , ça saigne alors que j'ai insisté sur le fait que je le voulais bien cuit pas salé pas poivré pas de saveur just des morceaux des truc bizarre qui le rend purement amer en tabarnak !! & oui ça coûte 56 $ ! & lui y'a tellement d'huile c'est horrible!!
went with my better half & her mom. We walked in & the place was really quiet… then a young lady & young man appeared & asked if we had reservations the answer was yes & we were seated. First impression was oh boy… then we were asked if we were Super Bowl fans & then it dawned on us that it was quiet because of that. We got menus & selected some drinks they arrived bang on super tasty the menu was simple & everything looked fantastic we ordered appetizers & again were blown away. The music was playing in the background nice boss nova versions of classic songs had me toe tapping in no time! Then we ordered food. I had the steak & the table had the chicken & gnocchi again totally floored with how good the food was & how impeccable the service was. The duo that was working made sure the table was well taken care of from water to follow up visits to general pleasant conversation. I can't wait to go there again & get a real feel for the vibe of the place when it's packed!! Lia thank you for your excellent service, professionalism & honesty!!

Nice restaurant vibe. The cocktails were nice, good service. The octopus & scallops carpaccio were the stars, very nicely presented & the flavor was outstanding. Moules were well prepared & very seasoned, steak with the amount of butter was delicious. Good amount per serving
Nous avons eu la chance de souper à la table du chef. Nous sommes une familles de 5 & avons vécus une expérience mémorable. Xavier (l'un des propriétaires) a été très généreux avec nous & nous a accueillis comme des membres de sa famille. Tous les plats étaient succulents, le service était impeccable, les employés étaient tous très joviales. L'atmosphère était géniale, nous allons y retourner. De plus, Xavier & son associés opèrent un autre restaurant Sel Noir Steakhouse. Je conseille ce restaurant à tout le monde qui veut avoir une belle expérience culinaire dans une belle ambiance.
Worst experience ever. The place smell/ so bad of oil & fish! We he got here a 8:45pm we got served our appetizers at 10 pm & everything has as burnt taste to iit. Maybe if they should charge their oil from time this time. Fries & calamari wings everything was dark colour because of the oil. We got our steak was not even chewable at all we didn't eat it all & the fries! & they still charged us! Worst service & food.
This spot definitely knows how to set the mood - beautifully decorated, cozy yet stylish, & with music that's lively but not blasting your eardrums 🎶. The multilevel design adds a nice dimension to the place, making it feel vibrant & open.
🍹 Cocktails: Absolutely lovely! Creative, well-balanced, & a real highlight of the evening. Our waitress was a star 🌟 - super friendly, knew the menu inside out, & guided us like a pro.

• The seafood options are the real heroes here 🐟🦑 - fresh, tender, & cooked with skill.
• The steak? 👌 Juicy, flavorful, & definitely the standout among the mains.
• The asparagus salad 🥗 was crisp & refreshing, while the burrata melted in the mouth - creamy perfection!
• The grilled octopus had the right texture but sadly lacked the seasoning punch it deserved.
• The roasted chicken… oh dear 😬 - dry, plain, & crying out for a sauce. Hard to love without it.
• The gnocchi was tasty but… $40 for a tiny portion? That's a chef's kiss in the wrong way 💸👎.
? Service: The staff were hustling hard & clearly giving it their all 💪, but the kitchen speed just couldn't keep up. I spent more time waiting for plates than enjoying them - & that's not the balance you want.
💰 Price vs. Experience: For the bill we paid, I expected fireworks 🎇. Instead, it was more like a sparkler - pretty in moments, but fizzled too soon.

👉 Overall: A restaurant with charm, strong cocktails, & great seafood - but the inconsistency & slow service mean it doesn't quite justify the price. Still, with a few chef-level tweaks 👨?🍳🔪, it could shine much brighter.
The waitstaff were very hardworking, but unfortunately that didn't make up for the slow service. The food also didn't live up to the price. The roasted chicken was dry & plain - without any sauce, it was hard to eat. The gnocchi was $40 for a small portion. The steak was actually quite good, much better than the other two mains. The asparagus salad was fresh, & the grilled octopus was tender but lacked flavor. Burrata was good as well. However, my wait time was significantly longer than the time I spent eating, even though the restaurant was busy but not full.
Amazing experience at Amalia! The steak & fries & peri-peri chicken were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was super friendly & professional. Great spot for a celebration - we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Cuisine : La nourriture étais correct , les calamars frits manquaient un peu de saveur, les croquettes de Bacalhau étaient délicieuse. Le steak frites étais correct , cuisson respecté , les frites par contre n'étaient pas trop bonne & un peu trop cuites & beaucoup trop de sel. Le demi poulet étais WOW , très bien assaisonner/piquant & très tendre & juteux j'ai ADORER.
Service : Le service étais IMPECCABLE, absolument rien à dire.
Ambiance : TRÈS beau comme restaurant & ambiance très chaleureux & discret à la fois , endroit idéale pour un petit rendez-vous avec votre moitié.
En gros , j'ai passer un bon moment , je recommande à 100% !!!

We had an incredible dining experience at this Portuguese restaurant, where everything from the appetizers to the cocktails exceeded our expectations.
To start, the appetizers were simply outstanding. The asparagus salad was fresh & flavorful, the roasted eggplant had the perfect smoky depth, & the burrata was creamy & indulgent-each dish was beautifully prepared & packed with flavor.
For the main course, we shared a spectacular meat platter that was a true showcase of Portuguese flavors. The combination of juicy steak, beef chorizo, succulent shrimp, perfectly grilled octopus, & spicy, flavorful chicken made for a memorable meal. Every bite was cooked to perfection, with bold, well-balanced seasoning that kept us coming back for more.
The service was just as remarkable as the food. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely warm, enhancing our experience with their hospitality. The cocktail menu was also a highlight, offering a fantastic selection that complemented our meal beautifully.
Overall, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience, & we'll definitely be returning for another taste of their amazing Portuguese cuisine. Highly recommended!
