I had the sukiyaki special ramen for lunch & my boyfriend had the classic tonkatsu. We could not recommend it more. This spot is the only one in the city where I have ever experienced an atmosphere akin to an authentic Japanese ramenya. Totally deserves its Michelin mention !
Waiting period is long. Waiter attitude was very unwelcoming. Appetizer was nice. Food was below average (not sure why they have Michelin guide). Tables were very uncomfortable. Temperature of the restaurant was too cold. Also very expensive for what you getting. Not recommend
I had a great food experience here! There are no reservations so when you arrive you add your name to the list & get a text in about 25 minutes when your table is ready.
I ordered vegetable toppings & added chicken for $4, which was totally worth it. The portion was generous, the flavors were delicious, & the sides especially the pickled radish were excellent.
The only downside was sitting near the door, where it felt a bit cold & cramped. Still, the ramen was amazing & the service was very attentive. Highly recommend!
You can enjoy authentic & simple tonkotsu ramen. It has a very rich taste & a taste that makes you feel Japan. The amount is not large, so it is small for men, but it is just the right amount for women. & for the Japanese, you'll scream, because $30 for a bowl of ramen (including tips) is crazy. This is because in Japan, you can eat ramen with this taste for $7 or $9 I wouldn't recommend it to Japanese tourists, but I would recommend it to people from other countries.

Saturday 10 jan 13h. I don't believe this place should be a Michelin Recommended restaurant. There was no service at the entrance except a small ipad where you need to put your name & number to be on the waiting list. The guy that worked there ignored us & pass by us a few times but it was so clear that we were waiting to talk to someone. He simply pointed to the ipad & left. We finally got a SMS & went back where the same guy with the cap just never event looked at us so we needed to stop him & tell him we got an SMS. Cold & without any welcoming effort he sat us at the bar & left.
Next the girl behind the bar never welcomed us & passed in front of us without looking. Water came 5 min after & asked us if we were ready to order. No welcome, not a smile, cold & without care. We asked for sake & she didn't know much. So I asked for the sake menu & she gave it to me but warned us that there was nothing in stock exacept 2 or 3 little bottles of 300ml. Appetizer were below average. Karage Spicy was not spicy & WAY to much batter & the takoyaki was a puree of mush with seemed with no octupus.
Ramen took forever to come but once it arrived they were good but I had better in other restaurants.
Extra : I was in front of the beer tap & the glasses were not clean. I saw a waiter look at the glasses & noticed there were not clean but he served beer in them anyway.
That why I don't believe this place should be a Michelin Recommended Restaurant. You should feel welcomed in a restaurant & today it felt like we where a number & couldn't wait for the customers to leave so they could serve the next ones.
The service was fast & courteous. Food was amazing. They were packed, but still very kind. They had a place to leave our winter coats. A little pricier for a lamen, but as someone who loves good food, I would recommend it.

would recommend, worth a try if you are ever in the area. Ramen soups is normally very salty but not in this case, totally drinkable, very savory, better than average for sure.
Karaage was a pleasant surprise, layers of flavor, I rate it higher than the ramen, maybe I just like fried chicken more in general.
Speaking from my experience:
My family & I have been craving ramen this morning, we looked online & saw that this restaurant was recommended by many & not to mention their Michelin status. Today was cold & windy, of course we expect something warm & delicious to fill our stomach. We walked about 5km just to get there (not a problem). When we arrive, we were super tired, hungry & cold: expecting to get the best food experience. We waited there for a couple of minutes: no waiter came to assist. We didn't notice the little tablet which you have to use to reserve for ( our fault). We reserved, waiting time was 3h 30 + minutes. That's insane, since we saw much table available. It's fine though, we didn't come all the way for nothing. We settle down in another store waiting.
Great news! Around 30 minutes in, we got the text! Yay! We hurried & arrived. They quickly assigned us to our seat. We ordered, everything went perfectly. The atmosphere was nice, there wasn't heating nor air conditioner: no one had any problem, even though most of the people still kept their coat on for extra heat. Personally I was pretty cold & very excited for my ramen to come. When it arrived the first thing I did was to put my hands on the hottest part of the bowl. Weirdly it was warm but more on the cold side. Maybe it's a sign that the bowl was made to last! I took a bite: the food was exactly like the bowl, warm but more on the cold side, I asked around to see if it's just a me problem. Seems like it wasn't.
I finished my bowl, disappointed. & tell me why the egg was so bland. Is this Asian food? The food wasn't worth the hype, especially not with the compliment'just like Japan'. Im not picky at all, but the food was really disappointing: it wasn't special compared to other ramens. I would prefer Sensotei ramen for better flavor & packaged homemade ramen for its warmth.
Overall, the experience was upsetting & I wouldn't come back. Also not to mention, I put more green onion, but the amount was just like regular ramen stores.
Best ramen hands down in all of Québec. Nothing comes close to them. Recommend trying both their pork broth (tonkotsu) & chicken broth (torikotsu)! Service by Kathy is always great.
I felt that the flavor was lacking. For context, I grabbed the'Vegetarian broth w vegetables since I'm a vegetarian. I've had better vegetarian ramen bowls throughout the city, this bowl just seemed weak. I was expecting so much more from a michelin star recommended ramen house, however it was mediocre at best. The best part of the actual food was the consistency & texture of the noodles.
Been to Japan & this ramen is seriously up there. The tonkatsu ramen is so good & refreshing summer special is also very nice. The ambiance & service is also 10/10. Highly highly recommend
Yokato Yokabai Ramen is definitely one of the best ramen place in Montreal. Their ramen is super delicious & the prices are reasonable. Service is great as well. I also love their karaage & edamame beans. They also have a bar section to grab a beer/drinks with friends/coworkers. Would easily recommend this restaurant. Only con : it's often busy so might have to wait for a table.
