We just had a fantastic meal at Yama.
From the service from Myron to the food we ordered, everything was delicious & the quality of the fish was superb.
Price to quality ratio is outstanding.
Will definately be coming back.
Do not come here. You will get better service at a food court & better quality of food. Came in eve of Christmas eve, the restaurant did not seem busy. However, it was impossible to find seating. I waited over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged & was eventually seated at the bar.
The food quality was unacceptable. The fish dish was extremely salty & stringy. The foams on the plate were dried out. Even worse, breakfast ordered through the hotel came with berries that had visible white mold next to my eggs Benedict. This is a serious food safety issue.
Very disappointing experience. Would not return.

Great service, but the food is RIDICULOUSLY expensive for the quality that you get. The sushi tasted like it was made in a chain restaurant. Really disappointing experience.
Yama has been my go-to destination for years, & with good reason-it's consistently exceptional in every way. Nestled in the heart of downtown Montreal, this restaurant offers a refined escape from the everyday, where elegance meets warmth & quality is never compromised.
From the moment you arrive, you're met with an ambiance that is both sophisticated & inviting. The interior design is beautifully curated-dim lighting, tasteful decor, & a serene energy that makes it equally suited for an intimate date night, a high-stakes business meeting, or a well-earned moment of calm after a long day.
The service at Yama is second to none. Shaf, David, Mo, & the entire team are true professionals: attentive without being intrusive, polished yet personable. Their genuine hospitality & deep knowledge of the menu elevate the experience to something memorable every single time.
The food speaks for itself. The sushi is among the finest in the city-crafted with precision, perfectly balanced flavors, & always fresh. The wagyu burger is indulgent, beautifully prepared, & full of depth. Their cocktail program is equally impressive, offering a creative yet classic selection that complements the menu perfectly.
What I appreciate most is Yama's consistency. Over the years, the quality has never wavered. It's rare to find a restaurant that strikes such a perfect balance between upscale dining & authentic hospitality.
Whether you're looking to unwind with a drink, enjoy a top-tier meal, or impress a guest, Yama delivers on all fronts. It's more than a restaurant-it's an experience. & one I wholeheartedly recommend.
Good food, friendly service, a little slow but that's what it takes to prepare quality dishes fresh. The dessert is especially memorable, maybe worth a separate trip just to try their dessert menu.
While the Vogue Hotel didn't quite meet expectations, Yama restaurant inside the hotel was a remarkable exception & deserved a separate rating for the exceptional foods it delivered. The dining experience at Yama was exquisite, offering a fusion of Asian dishes elevated by Western ingredients that preserved their traditional core tastes. The menu was a thoughtful blend of classic & contemporary, with each dish showcasing a harmonious balance of flavors. The chefs at Yama have a knack for integrating Western elements into Asian cuisine without overshadowing the original flavors. This results in dishes that are both familiar & excitingly new. What stood out was not just the quality of the food but also the presentation, which was artful & inviting. The ambiance of the restaurant complemented the dining experience, with a warm & welcoming atmosphere that made the meal even more enjoyable.

This place is above my expectation, I thought it was just a restaurant under Vogue, but it actually provided fine Asian cuisine with high quality, service was also excellent
