We had a lovely dinner with friends & really enjoyed our experience overall. The staff were warm & attentive, & we appreciated the fresh bread served at the table as soon as we arrived.
The pasta dishes were good, although the lasagna was a bit too salty for our taste. Our favorite dish of the night was definitely the mushroom pizza-it was delicious.
The only downside was the noise level. Due to the restaurant's architecture, the sound carries throughout the space, making it difficult to hear each other during our meal. Aside from that, we had a great evening & would happily come back.
Food is so average here I don't know why there's so many people & reservations. I ordered a pizza & it took over 30 min to come almost all for burnt pizza. Not only that it's very undersalted. I ordered it again & I got an even worse pizza. It was basically just thick cheese & bread. I gaged & spit out the cheese since it was hard to chew. The Alfredo pasta with chicken tasted ok but was very mediocre. They could have done better my Alfredo at home tastes better. Place is so crowded & loud too. Spent 80$ there for 2 people.
We visited this amazing & popular Italian restaurant on Friday for dinner. We already had the reservations. We ordered:
1. Funghi E Cipolla Pizza: 5/5 - Amazing. I loved that taste of mushrooms & cheese.
2. Caprini Pizza: 3/5 - Average. The taste was not that good.
3. Pesto Al Basilico with Spaghetti: 5/5 - Must have.
4. Primavera Estivale with Penne: 3/5 - Average.
5. Le Tiramisu de monsieur Gavino: 5/6 - Must have
We only ordered the vegetarian food. They served the fresh bread with olive oil at the start. They add the fresh Parmesan on the pasta. Even though there were some dishes that wasn't so good, the overall experience was a solid 5/5. I also feel that their vegetarian dishes are not their specialty so you experience could be even better.
First of the all, the server was brilliant. I would even say, I have never seen someone so dedicated & attentive to their job. She was so friendly, accessible at all times. Instead of giving us the togo boxes (which is fine to me), she packed the food herself. We had a kid in the group. They promptly placed a kids chair & gave him crayons to play. Everyone in the group was impressed by the service provided to us. Unfortunately, I don't know her name otherwise I would have given a shoutout to her.
Last but not the least, the ambience & atmosphere is top notch. The open kitchen looks so cool. This place has definitely a vibe to it.
This place did not disappoint. It's super popular & the food was good. Side note, if you want bread ask for it, they don't offer it. But, it's worth the ask!
We visited Montreal for a week in early November & ate at Weinstein & Gavino's twice. An easy walk from our hotel (& not far from the Bell Centre), the cool, three-level establishment is casual & welcoming. The service & food were both great. Fresh, warm bread (with oil & balsamic dip) is served before your order arrives & the salads, pastas, & pizza we ordered all tasted delicious. Casual local atmosphere, very good food & reasonable prices. 5 stars for us!!
Had an amazing experience here as always! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, & it was absolutely perfect. The pasta was creamy & delicious, & the chicken was cooked just right overall a solid 10/10.
We also ordered the bruschetta, which was fresh & full of flavor. The bread was crispy & baked to perfection.
The atmosphere is always beautiful as well. The vintage look of the restaurant really stands out & creates a warm, inviting vibe. Highly recommend!
I ordered the Pollo alla gavino & when it said 1/2 grilled chicken I expected half a chicken breast, not half a whole chicken. The size of the portion was huge & for 20 dollars it felt like a steal.
Meat was falling off the bone & everything tasted amazing. It came with a free appetizer (either a salad or a portion of cream of mushrooms soup) & fluffy toasted bread.
The staff was very polite & service was fast, especially with how busy they were.
The terrace has a great atmosphere & is very pretty, but beware as there are tons of wasps, I would highly suggest eating inside.
