Tula is widely celebrated as an exceptional vegan Indian restaurant in Montreal, offering a menu that is both nourishing and packed with authentic, complex flavors. Guests consistently praise the high quality of the food, noting that even non-vegan diners find the dishes delicious, beautifully presented, and satisfying without feeling heavy. A standout feature of the dining experience is the warm, genuine hospitality provided by the owner and staff, who are frequently described as passionate, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Whether visiting for the popular lunch thali, the creative brunch options, or a memorable dinner, diners are consistently impressed by the calm, zen-like atmosphere and the meticulous attention to detail in every meal, making it a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a memorable and healthy dining experience.
Tula offers a sophisticated departure from the redundant menus found in many Indian eateries. By focusing on fiber-rich grains, various lentils, & thoughtful preparation methods-like steaming potatoes instead of frying them-they have created a menu that feels both artisanal & nostalgic.
The staff, specifically Abhishek & Rania, are experts in their craft & provide a very warm,'pristine' atmosphere. We were so impressed by the dinner service that we returned for brunch the very next day. A must-visit for the health-conscious foodie.
We love Tula! We ordered the biryani, butter chicken, roti, pana cona & mango lassi. Everything was absolutely delicious! As a vegan, it's usually hard to find Indian vegan food that is so delicious. Abhishek is very kind, enthusiastic & a great host.
Such a warm service, the menu card is just delicious & the food is both super healthy & taasstyy!!
This indian fusion place will satisfy your indian cravings hands down. & cruelty free 🤌❤?🌱
My family & I were visiting Montreal for the first time for a concert & we came across Tula searching for vegan & Indian food. It was the best part of our stay. We are so grateful to have met Abhishek & became friends during our stay. He is such a kind, generous, talented, passionate, person & soul showcasing our culture & cuisine in the most beautiful way. He has made his restaurant into a safe space with wonderful energy & vibes & community. The food is the best Indian food we have ever had & we miss it everyday in Toronto & nothing here compares. This is the first time we have even found gluten free chapati at an Indian restaurant let alone an all vegan one. Everything about this place was a wonderful experience. They are very accommodating & health conscious too. We loved the food & his company so much we came as much as we could during our short stay & we miss it! I hope to visit in the summer. Big thank you to Abhishek & his wonderful staff. Please give this place a visit if you haven't!
The best Indian plant-based restaurant in Montreal. Tried Vegan Chicken Biryani so awesome. The lasooni Dhaniya Tofu so so so delicious, gluten free chapati goes along with it.
Also talking about ambiance, slow meditating music in background, the refreshing insect stick wow.
If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband & I visited during a recent trip to the city, & without question, it was the best meal we had -- & honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives.
From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, & the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi & Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart & soul of Tula, & their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience.
We spent a few wonderful hours there, & I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, & her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous & beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down & hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do & love the people they do it for.
& then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati & the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love & intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest.
I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- & you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean.
Abhishek was amazing & very knowledgeable. All the indian dishes here were just like back home. Very light & refreshing. Highly recommend the brunch platter & the poutine.
Visited Tula recently while coming from Toronto, & it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is a small & cozy place, & at first we were a bit hesitant because of the size, but once the food arrived we were truly impressed.
The dishes were fresh, flavorful, & beautifully prepared. It's amazing how they recreate classic Indian flavors in a completely vegan way. The curries & biryani were especially delicious & felt light yet very satisfying. The atmosphere was warm & welcoming, & the service was friendly & attentive.
I visited with my colleagues & we all loved the food. If you're looking for authentic plant-based Indian cuisine in Montreal, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommende
