Have vegan options too. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat vegan & healthy food.
Our first meal in Montreal, & we were blown away. Whatever you do, do NOT forget to order the mango lassi-the best I've had in my life! The vegan butter chicken was also remarkable, as was the tikka masala poutine... it was difficult to not return for dinner again the next day. The vibe is lovely for a casual date, too. The staff treated us very well, too. Highly recommended!
One of the best experiences I had in Montreal, the food was amazing, the staff was lovely. Highly recommend & will definitely go back to it every time i visit this city. Merci🫰🏻
Had an incredible experience at Tula Restaurant in Montreal! The owner was warm, friendly, & genuinely passionate - he personally walked us through each dish & its ingredients, which made the meal even more enjoyable. We ordered the lunch thali, & every single item was bursting with flavor & beautifully balanced. The presentation, aroma, & variety made it a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic & delicious Indian food served with heart.
First time there, the owner made us feel very welcome & the ambiance inside the restaurant was calm & quite appeasing. The food was very flavorful, I ordered the degustation menu which gave me a chance to try numerous of their dishes at once, highly recommend !
Tula is an amazing place, highly recommend!! The food is just mindblowing, they use fresh ingredients & make it with so much love. You'll feel as if you're eating at home, the owner & chefs pour their heart out. When you come in, you'll be greeted with a smile & feel that you have a connection with the owner as well. He is so warm, loving, friendly & passionate about vegan food. He combines different cuisines & brings unique taste here!
It was a pleasure to have dinner here as we were visiting from New Jersey. Amazing chatting with Abhishek who hosted us graciously! We have a great reason to come back to Montreal!
Everything was perfect, the food, service & ambiance - highly recommend & looking forward to eating here again!
This was my favorite meal in Montreal! The owner, Abhi (I hope I spelled it correctly!) who was also the host, was amazing. His passion for the food that he served (& also other restaurants in the area & in the U.S.) was infectious! He made the experience pleasant & fun & we enjoyed talking to him.
& I didn't even mention the food which was excellent. We ordered the brunch platter & another dish & both were flavorful & tasty. We also ordered dessert & chai which were so good.
Highly recommended!!!
The food was amazing! I recommend the tikki burger. The food was so light & flavourful. The portion sizes were just enough & it tasted very authentic. & this was just the brunch menu! The service was so amazing as well! The service was also perfectly bilingual. I highly recommend for authentic & fresh food. Drinks were super good. The mango lassi, made with coconut yogurt, was one of the best I've had!
Had a great meal at Tula! Food was fresh, healthy & tasty & the service by the owner Abhishek was very welcoming. The thali for 21 CAD was a great option for the price. Would highly recommended.
Abhi was wonderfully welcoming, & the food was excellent. We enjoyed the discovery dinner & would highly recommend it. The brunch menu also looked fantastic - something to try on our next visit. Thank you, Abhi!
In a city with no shortage of Indian cuisine, Tula stands in a class of its own. Abhi's menu is a thoughtful exploration of India's rich vegetarian heritage, artfully crafted to showcase the nuance & complexity of regional flavors. This is a departure from the familiar, offering a genuine taste of'satvik' tradition-food that is pure, balanced, & incredibly flavorful without being heavy. For those seeking an authentic & elevated Indian dining experience, I cannot recommend Tula highly enough.
Highly recommended for vegan Indian cuisine! 🌱 The food is absolutely delicious & authentic, bursting with rich flavors. Manager Abi radiates positive energy. He takes the time to explain the menu carefully & ensures you find exactly what you'll love. The atmosphere is both relaxing & welcoming, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. I'll definitely be coming back for more!
I highly recommend the lunch Thali plate & their homemade chai & turmeric lattes!
Delicious vegan Indian food!
Highly recommend..
1. mango lassi
2. Chili tofu (if you like spicy)
3. Vegan chicken tikka masala
TULA translates to'Balanced' & that's exactly what this restaurant is all about. An extraordinary culinary experience - five stars all the way!! Such homely preparation, felt light yet tasty. Highly recommended for wholesome & scrumptious food lovers!
Food:
This isn't your typical Indian restaurant serving the usual paneer, butter naan & Jira rice. If that's what you're after, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you're seeking something truly unique, this place delivers in every way. The menu is thoughtfully curated, reflecting genuine passion & care in every dish. We liked it so much that we ate there 3 times during our 3 day stay in Montreal. Here are the things we tried & absolutely loved. I normally like to rank dishes but all dishes came #1.
- Koshimbir - a refreshing salad
- Grandma's Special Curry - reminded me of a version of avial
- Chapati - very home made feel
- Ragda Patties - yummy chat
- Tomato Soup - so good, my daughter loved it
- Gulkand Panna Cotta
- lunch thali - comes with 4 curries, 1 salad, rice, roti & dessert.
- jackfruit biriyani - this was out of the world.
- Burger - crispy & delicious
- Bombay sandwich - we made this to go & ate it after about 8 hours & it was scrumptious
- Weekend Brunch Thali - pongal, sambhar, chutney, desset. I dont know how he gets such diverse food SO right
- Lentil idlis - they had shredded carrots & green beans. So thoughtful about making healthy food.
- Ragi dosa - this is not in the menu but the owner surprised us with it. SO good.
- Mango lassi - tasted even better than the dairy mango lassi. This was made with coconut milk yogurt that they make it themselves. I mean talk about the incredible amount of detail & care poured into creating it.
- Hibiscus & ginger drink -
- Chai - this came with the cutest sugar container on the side (see picture). Owner said he got them Bali when he was travelling.
Host, Service & Place:
Exceptional service & hospitality! We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, yet were welcomed with genuine kindness. There was no rush - we were encouraged to take our time exploring the menu. The host, Abhishek, patiently walked us through each item, clearly passionate about the food & the experience he offers. What stood out most was - he even recommended other restaurants in town that he personally likes. How often do you see a restaurant owner do that? It was clear he is not running the business just for the money. Once we placed our order, the food arrived promptly & was absolutely delightful. It is a beautiful, boutique restaurant. The interior is beautifully designed with tasteful decor that creates a calming & inviting ambiance.
Overall, a great experience.
Simply the best Indian restaurant in Montreal! Upon entry, the staff makes you feel very welcome & at home. Food ticks all the boxes (healthy, fresh, tasty & so yummy 😋)
2 years later & I'm still coming back, highly recommend!
Wonderful rich delicious Southern Indian vegan fare. Wonderful service! Abhi is a lovely person full of warmth & joy. I couldn't recommend it more highly. I loved the music in there.
