I had several dishes here. The description of the dishes versus the actual dish set a very high expectation & kinda left me to feeling, that was it? The spices & curries were very much on the acidic side & didn't seem to blend well on the palate. For an Indian resto, it was average. Tula is a must-try restaurant for Indian food with a serene ambience! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with calming spa-like music in a dining room filled with artistic decor & soft lighting. We were served by Abhi who welcomed us with such hospitality that we would go back just to hear more about the restaurant! We ordered the Jackfruit Biryani & the Vegan Butter Chicken Curry - both of which had incredible flavours. 10/10 would definitely visit again!View more
Recommended by the waiter, I ordered the Thali. It consist of salad, vegetable dishes, Indian bread, rice & dessert. The simmered dishes are very flavorful & fragrant. The Lassi relieve the palate from the spicy dish. A bit pricey for lunch but tasty.View more
Amazing!! The food, service, presentation, everything was amazing! I went for my birthday dinner with my non-vegan friends & they all said it tasted even better than the meat/dairy based versions of the same food! The staff was lovely & very enthusiastic & friendly. L'estomac est la porte de l'âme. Le Tula est bien plus qu'un restaurant indien végétarien, c'est un centre de guérison spirituelle qui prend soin de votre âme en expédiant à votre système digestif des aliments aux pouvoirs purificateurs. Vous êtes dépressifs ? Rien qu'une tasse de lait doré ne puisse régler. Vous avez des problèmes de couple ? Votre sandwich au tofu vaudra mieux que dix séances chez le psy ! Si vous ne lévitez pas après votre repas, on vous le rembourse. Vous aurez compris que je caricature & taquine gentiment les prétentions du menu. Pouvoirs mystiques mis à part, votre repas sera assurément haut en couleur & en saveurs. Il est même entré en grâce auprès de mon amie K. qui n'avait eu aucun contact positif avec la nourriture végétarienne auparavant. De même, je vous affirme sans hésitation qu'il s'agit du restaurant indien qui m'a le plus marqué à ce jour pour deux raisons principales : la gentillesse de notre hôte qui s'entretenait volontiers avec ses clients & le souci évident apporté à la création d'une ambiance propice à la dégustation & à la détente. Le Tula ne m'a pas pour autant converti en adepte de cuisine indienne, mais ce n'est pas à défaut d'avoir essayé ! Le croustillant sandwich Bombay avec l'option tofu était fort réussi & le plateau de dégustation, dont la purée de patates douces en dessert a séduit nos palais, donnait un bel aperçu du savoir-faire de l'établissement. Le propriétaire, pressentant qu'il me restait encore de l'espace gastrique, m'a suggéré de poursuivre l'expérience culinaire avec quatre galettes de lentilles. Je lui en ai plutôt demandé que deux, l'une pour moi, l'autre pour ma mère à la maison, ce qu'il a aimablement accepté. Je lui ai affirmé que si elles étaient suffisamment bonnes, les galettes allaient peut-être persuader ma mère d'accepter l'invitation qu'il lui avait lancée par mon entremise de venir faire un tour. Hélas, à l'instant même où j'ai mordu dans la mienne... J'ai su. J'ai su qu'elle ne viendrait pas ! Ma seule déception du repas. D'ailleurs, effectivement, après y avoir goûté, elle m'a affirmé sans ambages qu'elle n'en raffolait pas du tout. Tant pis. Mais qu'importe ! Parions que le restaurant du charismatique & polyglotte propriétaire, par ses prix doux, ses plats relevés & son décor enchanteur ne manquera jamais ni de vieux, ni de nouveaux visiteurs. Alors, n'ayez crainte, même si vous n'êtes pas prêt à léviter après votre repas, vous repartirez repus, détendus & probablement un peu plus ouverts à la cuisine indienne végétarienne.View more

First all-vegan Indian restaurant I've encountered! The coconut curry was delicious, & the owner is an incredibly amicable & down to earth man, clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. Took the time out of his busy job to chat about the city & explained the full menu. Best service ever!!View more

What a gem of a restaurant. From the first greeting to our final bite, we really enjoyed our meal. The pineapple basil salad was a perfect blend of greens, seeds, & pineapple. M had the Grandma's Curry & I had the Black Chickpea dish & each one was a perfect blend of flavors. For drinks, the hibiscus Chai & strawberry cocktail complimented the food perfectly. While we didn't think we had room for more, the pannacotta desserts completed the meal with aplomb. The staff were so pleasant & friendly & patient.
