matcha(216) dessert(56) ice cream(42) latte(41) drink(35) tea(32) soba(30) cake(28) sweet(25) hojicha(24) quality(21) recommend(19)My former favorite has become increasingly unpalatable. The matcha latte is bland, & the ice cream is loaded with a bunch of random, unremarkable toppings to justify spending $10. The price has gone up, but the quality has declined. The ambiance is also worse; it used to be quiet & elegant, but now it feels like a market, where you have to shout to order. The counter is so wide that you have to lean forward to barely communicate with the staff.
Everything matcha is delicious...best matcha ice cream. The soft serve is so good! Also very good ramen & poke bowls. Great casual dinner or dropping in for dessert. The parfaits are amazing. Wish they stayed open later in the summer though.
Been here countless of time, just wanna comment on the new straberry matcha with sakura cream, it is extremely watered down & bland
I had lunch here before I headed to VIA rail to go home. Beautiful cafe. Delicious soup. Nice presentation. I also bought a matcha chocolate bar. I'll see if they're in Toronto.
Tsujiri is THE most famous green tea brand in all Japan. Consequently they usually also have the best dark green tea ice cream in the world. However at this branch they did not offer the typical 3 flavor tiers of green tea ice cream (mild, medium, dark) & only the generic mild which is not what they are famous for… yuzu tea is good. Otherwise I do not recommend. Zenmai Matcha around the corner has a slightly better generic mild green tea ice cream (probably Maeda-En supplier?)
Great food, amazing drinks, outstanding service, but leaseholds needs serious loving
I had a lovely visit to Tsujiri! The menu is concise & well-defined, which usually guarantees quality-& they certainly delivered on that. The grilled pork noodle soup was delicious & clearly prepared with care. I also tried the roasted green tea, which was flavorful & hit the spot.
?However, I was quite disappointed that my tea was served in a paper cup despite me dining in.
Apparently, they had run out of glassware. For a premium tea house, drinking out of paper really takes away from the experience & the flavor. On the bright side, the matcha orders at other tables looked stunning! I'd love to come back for the food, but I hope they sort out their inventory so guests can enjoy the full aesthetic next time
Got Sakura strawberry matcha it was amazing, their pastries also looked so good!
