July 25, around 8-8:15 pm. BAD SERVICE. MELTED DRINKS.
It felt like every employee's first day at work.
We ordered two drinks: one ice frappé, one matcha.
They made the frappé immediately, & just left it on the counter for 15-20 MIN! The iced matcha was half prepared - All it was missing was some milk & the cap. Yet, 15-20 min later we are still waiting.
They had a pile of drinks just there melting while the employees were frazzled, looking at the drinks confused, touching them & couldn't serve. It's like they just didn't know what to do.
It was a total mess. Heard a lot of other customers complaining.
They just kept serving cakes instead of the drinks.
SLOWEST employees. Trying not to be mean, but they were clearly not the brightest stars in the sky. Didn't know being a'barista' was so tough… never seen people so lost.
Literally 5-6 drinks half made sitting there waiting for just milk & cap to finish off… everyone got their drinks melted!
I'm still not understanding why they left drinks melting there for so long .. just serve it.
The drinks were not bad… but completely melted so yeah… & we didn't have another 30 min to wait for them to prepare a new one.
It's not normal to wait that long, to then get a melted drink on a hot day. 20$ for melted ones..
Go to Matcha Zanmai instead - closeby, delicious matcha & MUCH better service. Also open later.
Quality matcha for delicate taste. I've been here a lot over the years & that says something. I really loved their cakes as it's not too sweet & creamy. I liked eating their cold noodles on a hot day in summer. Although, their drinks might be a bit sweet for some people (for example below, Hojicha milk tea blended), but I liked the level of sweetness. It might be hard to talk as the ambience can be a bit loud due to the blender blending loudly or people chatting. Overall, recommended coming here on dates, studying, or chatting with friends. It has that calming Japan feel.
The place decor is nice, it got a separated area for drinks & food. They are specialized in matcha drinks/ ice cream. I took the regular matcha ice cream parfait, but I found the taste too bitter! The combination of the things inside does not work well together. I don't know, left disappointed mainly because of the too much bitter taste of matcha.
I had a lovely visit to Tsujiri! The menu is concise & well-defined, which usually guarantees quality-& they certainly delivered on that. The grilled pork noodle soup was delicious & clearly prepared with care. I also tried the roasted green tea, which was flavorful & hit the spot.
?However, I was quite disappointed that my tea was served in a paper cup despite me dining in.
Apparently, they had run out of glassware. For a premium tea house, drinking out of paper really takes away from the experience & the flavor. On the bright side, the matcha orders at other tables looked stunning! I'd love to come back for the food, but I hope they sort out their inventory so guests can enjoy the full aesthetic next time
Absolutely in love with their new limited sakura series!! 🌸 Everything tastes so good!! I highly recommend the mousse cake & the latte 😊💕 It's so rare to see sakura flavored drinks & sweets in Montreal. I hope they repeat this menu every year 🥹
Honestly one of the worst matcha drinks I've ever had. The flavor was super off - tasted bitter & kind of watered down at the same time, which is a weird combo. I tried to give it a chance but couldn't even finish it.
What made it worse was the customer service. I politely asked if I could exchange it for something else since I didn't like it, & they flat out refused. No effort to accommodate at all.
Definitely disappointing, especially for something that's not cheap. Wouldn't go back.
I like the interior design, very fancy decor. Service was polite, welcoming & professional. I ordered an iced matcha latte. I was asked if I wanted regular sugar & responded yes. Unfortunately I didn't taste any sweetener, only matcha which was a shame. Compared to the other matcha cafes nearby, this iced matcha latte is a bit more expensive. I do appreciate that they didn't put too much ice since I tend to drink them fast.
They have great quality matcha for the price, & it's bigger shop than imagined. With modern & calm room decorations that's black. & oh, I love their ice cream! I am a big Matcha fan, so I love that their matcha desserts & drinks taste more'bitter' & tea-like than your usual matcha store. They also offer free wifi, since there are a lot of students around. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a good study place there. During the many times I went there, it's often crowded & kind of noisy.
