I had a lovely visit to Tsujiri! The menu is concise & well-defined, which usually guarantees quality-& they certainly delivered on that. The grilled pork noodle soup was delicious & clearly prepared with care. I also tried the roasted green tea, which was flavorful & hit the spot.
?However, I was quite disappointed that my tea was served in a paper cup despite me dining in.
Apparently, they had run out of glassware. For a premium tea house, drinking out of paper really takes away from the experience & the flavor. On the bright side, the matcha orders at other tables looked stunning! I'd love to come back for the food, but I hope they sort out their inventory so guests can enjoy the full aesthetic next time
Absolutely in love with their new limited sakura series!! 🌸 Everything tastes so good!! I highly recommend the mousse cake & the latte 😊💕 It's so rare to see sakura flavored drinks & sweets in Montreal. I hope they repeat this menu every year 🥹
Honestly one of the worst matcha drinks I've ever had. The flavor was super off - tasted bitter & kind of watered down at the same time, which is a weird combo. I tried to give it a chance but couldn't even finish it.
What made it worse was the customer service. I politely asked if I could exchange it for something else since I didn't like it, & they flat out refused. No effort to accommodate at all.
Definitely disappointing, especially for something that's not cheap. Wouldn't go back.
I like the interior design, very fancy decor. Service was polite, welcoming & professional. I ordered an iced matcha latte. I was asked if I wanted regular sugar & responded yes. Unfortunately I didn't taste any sweetener, only matcha which was a shame. Compared to the other matcha cafes nearby, this iced matcha latte is a bit more expensive. I do appreciate that they didn't put too much ice since I tend to drink them fast.
They have great quality matcha for the price, & it's bigger shop than imagined. With modern & calm room decorations that's black. & oh, I love their ice cream! I am a big Matcha fan, so I love that their matcha desserts & drinks taste more'bitter' & tea-like than your usual matcha store. They also offer free wifi, since there are a lot of students around. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a good study place there. During the many times I went there, it's often crowded & kind of noisy.
My friends & I used to love going here. The place is cozy & drinks were amazing. However, I took my family to try it last week & it was not a nice experience. A lady with glasses (asian) was very rude & giving attitude to my boyfriend when he was ordering & to my family. We were a big family so we needed a bigger table to be all together. We went upstairs & saw few people hanging around. So we did try to sit down & go there since it was perfect for all of us. This girl told us promptly that the 2nd floor is closed with the most irritated voice & look. But... Theres obviously people in there. How is it suddenly closed for us?? Anyways, we didn't bother asking her because I just don't want to make a scene. But yess, food is good. Drinks are good. But that lady needs to know how to treat customers properly. I am not generalizing the crew. But this lady stands out for us. Been going here for a long time & I haven't gotten this unsatisfied before.
Update june 2025: for the past few times i noticed the drinks are not as consistent, it's a hit or miss. I guess depends on the barista …
I love their Ramen! It gets busy in this cafe, but I like the atmosphere.
I had high expectations when a friend recommended this place, but unfortunately, I left very disappointed. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt disorganized & unwelcoming, their terrace was a mess, the staff didn't seem engaged or happy to be there. The display was poorly stocked (only two dessert options available at 1pm). I ordered an iced matcha latte that was decent, but my friend's drink, which was supposed to be lightly sweetened, came out far too sweet. Overall, not the experience I was hoping for.
This is a specialty matcha café. They use dense brown sugar in the shiratama parfait & kuromitsu matcha glace, which overpowered the overall flavor & made it feel almost medicinal. Their yuzu drink & hojicha ice cream were really good. The café also has plenty of seating, so it's a nice place to sit down & relax.
Very well decorated Japanese place that serves drinks & ice cream, specializing in match flavors. The ice is super good & worth the price. Oh, & you can also order match slushie with ice cream on top. Very spacious so you can sit down with group of friends or family
I'm sooo happy i found a new matcha café in Montreal ! Im a big matcha drinker so im always looking for real strong matcha.
I tried the matcha latté & it was DELICIOUS ! I cannot wait to try the other items on the menu.
The place is big, lots of seating inside but also outside.
I just wished it was open in the morning! 😫
Cosy coffee/matcha shop. Casual talking to friends & passing time with amazing pastry & drinks. The cakes were all amazing & fluffy & light, not too sweet.
Tsujiri is not known for soba & soup noodles, but still enjoyed it during a chilly day.
It is known for its matcha beverages. You can customize your beverages to your liking including for those who are lactose intolerant. Despite it being chilly, my GO-TO is the O-mathca ice blend! A good balance of matcha & ice for a savoury drink no matter the time of the year.
Amazing food: dishes, desserts & drinks. We loved it so much we came every day during our stay in Montreal. Service was great, especially the man with glasses who was very kind & attentive. We wish we could come back, but sadly we live in another continent.
You know, rhe amount of time I go to Tsujiri, grabbing a Genmaicha &, at times, a dessert, I've never actually tried their dishes.
This time, with my partner, we went ahead & got their Dashi Chazuke. Salmon for her, Unagi (eel) for me.
Gotta say, food was so good, I'm tempted to try to make it at home.
(Also Genmaicha & Yuzu tea for drinks).
So authentic, from the food down to the matcha. Most places claim their matcha is authentic but Tsujiri really means it. The drinks & dessert are delicious. Plenty of space for indoor seating. Staff were very nice & patient too. I found it a bit pricey, but the quality is definitely high.
Can't stop recommending it to anyone who likes a good cup of matcha. Their drinks, sweet treats & savoury food are all delicious; the team is super friendly & the ambiance is great, so calm & pleasant. Give it a try.
