In creating Toqué!, more than twenty years ago, we wanted to showcase the Quebec products and the work of those who supply us. We want more than ever to acknowledge the contribution of these suppliers who deserve the glorious title of artisans. We owe them the foie gras or samphire; lamb or vegetables, seafood or herbs. These tireless artisans inspire the cuisine of Toqué! to which they bring the flavors, textures and natural aromas of irreproachable freshness. We are members of Relais & Châteaux and Grandes Tables du Monde.
Toqué. is widely regarded as a premier destination in Montréal, celebrated for its high-level culinary consistency, dedication to seasonal Québec ingredients, and sophisticated atmosphere. Many guests highlight the tasting menu and wine pairings as a highlight of their experience, noting the artistic presentation and the disciplined, technical precision brought to every dish. While the setting is often described as elegant and refined, the staff are frequently praised for their warm, attentive, and professional service that helps facilitate memorable celebrations and special occasions. Although some visitors find the pricing to be a significant investment, the majority view the experience as a worthwhile reflection of its reputation for excellence in fine dining.
Drove in from Ottawa just for Toqué & holy hell, worth every minute. The tasting menu blew my mind - that foie gras with maple was unreal, & the sommelier nailed every pairing without being snobby about it. Room's gorgeous too, big windows, super chill vibe. Service was tight but warm. Already planning round two.
The service was excellent. Everything else was a masterclass in hiding mediocrity behind legacy prestige. At $850 for two people with tasting menus & wine pairings (the cheaper of the two pairing options), this was bar-none the most insulting value proposition I've experienced in Montréal fine dining. The city has dramatically better food available for a fraction of the cost. When the highlight of the evening is the sourdough bread, something has gone terribly wrong. Not a single dish was memorable in a positive way. The foie gras resembled a generic pâté more than a refined preparation. The steak course was laughable: two tiny cubes of beef, both tough, one visibly gray. The halibut was astonishingly bland, even for a delicate fish. Nearly every plate relied on presentation to distract from the fact that the flavours themselves were incoherent, timid, or outright poor. The garnishes & accompaniments felt assembled for visual effect rather than culinary purpose. Nothing tasted composed. Nothing tasted inspired. Nothing justified the price. The sommelier was knowledgeable & the pairings were competent, but no amount of wine can rescue food this uninspired. This restaurant evidently survives on reputation accumulated decades ago. If this meal reflects the current state of the kitchen, then the name is carrying far more weight than the cuisine. Strip away the historic prestige & this is simply not a serious top-tier restaurant anymore. Honestly, given what happened to Brasserie T, this felt less like a celebrated institution & more like a brand nearing the end of its relevance. Don't be fooled by the'Michelin Recommended' status... it rightfully earned zero stars. Your money, time, & attention would surely be better spent elsewhere. This was shameful.
An unforgettable evening crafted by François?Emmanuel Nicol, the brilliant chef behind Québec City's two?Michelin?star Tanière³. The nine?course tasting menu with wine pairings was executed with absolute mastery. The venison main course was transcendent-perfectly prepared, deeply flavorful, & easily one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. & the surprise dessert of caviar & crème brûlée was a stroke of genius, balancing luxury, texture, & sweetness with remarkable precision. An exceptional culinary experience from start to finish.

Absolutely amazing! The service was exemplary. Simon was gracious, attentive & accommodating. The sommelier was knowledgeable & willing to discuss wine choices. The maitre d'hotel was aware of everything that was happening. The food was a gastronomic delight. The wine pairings, close to perfect. This was a once in a lifetime experience.
Having a dinner at Le Toque was one the highlights of my trip to Montreal. This restaurant truly live up to its reputation as one of Canada's finest destination.
Food: Each dish was a work of art, beautifully plated & bursting with flavor. The tasting menu showcased incredible local ingredients, especially the seafood & seasonal vegetable. The foie gras starter was rich & perfectly balanced.
Service: The staff was warm, knowledgeable, & attractive without being intrusive. They guided us through the wine pairings with enthusiasm, & it was clear they take price in what they do.
Ambiance: Elegant yet comfortable. The dining room has a refined, modern aesthetic with just the right level of intinmacy for the special evening.
Price & values: It is a high-end dining experience, so the prices are premium, but for the quality, creativity, & service provided, it felt well worth it. This is a place for celebrating & savoring.
Highlights: The chef's commitment to showcasing is impressive, & the wine pairing was spot on.
Montreal staple, tasting menu was well thought out for the most part on the day we dined. Was a little disappointed to be served tuna twice in seven dishes- hence the 4 stars, especially considering the cost.
Wind pairing is highly recommended, well described & explained. Very knowledgeable.
Service was impeccable.
Truly other worldly food. Something I wish all of my loved ones could experience. More than I have ever spent on food, but what an experience. I will remember it for the rest of my life. Exceptional! We went with the tasting menu & the wine pairing, trusting in the tastes & selections of the chef & sommelier, & we were surprised & delighted by every bite.
The food & wine pairing was absolutely fantastic.
I had read some concerns about the sauses being bland, but I found them to be perfectlry balanced. They complemented the naural flavors of the ingredients without overpoering them. The dishes were refined & delicate, & both the service & ambiance exceed my expections.
An unforgettable dining experience! The food was delicious & artfully plated! Thanks chefs for adjusting the entire tasting menu to fit my dietary restrictions with care & creativity. Each wine pairing came with a well told captivating story. Our waitress was warm & attentive, & the bartender dazzled us with creative mocktails. The cozy, elegant ambiance made it all the more special. A true feast for all the senses!
While I truly appreciated the experience, the high price point didn't quite match the overall wow factor I was hoping for - which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
