In creating Toqué!, more than twenty years ago, we wanted to showcase the Quebec products and the work of those who supply us. We want more than ever to acknowledge the contribution of these suppliers who deserve the glorious title of artisans. We owe them the foie gras or samphire; lamb or vegetables, seafood or herbs. These tireless artisans inspire the cuisine of Toqué! to which they bring the flavors, textures and natural aromas of irreproachable freshness. We are members of Relais & Châteaux and Grandes Tables du Monde.
Toqué. offers a refined dining experience that consistently earns praise for its technical precision and dedication to showcasing seasonal Quebec ingredients. Many guests appreciate the elegant atmosphere and the attentive, professional staff who strive to create memorable moments for special occasions. While the tasting menu is often highlighted as a creative journey through unique flavor profiles and artful presentations, the a la carte options also receive acclaim for their quality and balance. Although perceptions of the pricing and specific flavor combinations can vary among patrons, the restaurant remains a destination for those seeking a high-end culinary experience defined by expertise, consistency, and a deep respect for local terroir.
My wife & I wanted to celebrate her birthday & some milestones we achieved together! Fortunately for us, during our overnight stay in Montreal, Toqué! was close by & we were eager to have a Michelin Star experience.
Toqué! did not disappointed in the slightest! The moment we arrived, staff greeted us & welcomed us in. The mood, decor & lighting was very pleasant & relaxing. We found ourselves at a nice window seat in a corner table for two.
To skip ahead a little, the cocktails pictured here is their take on a New York Sour called'Le Crepuscule' & without a doubt it was an immediately superior rival to the famed beverage. What a start!
Before I go on & on about the food (which is an easy 5/5, 10/10 or whatever you want to call it) the staff had surprised a few first time diners with a few additional treats at no extra cost! No spoilers here! But everything from the first dish right down to dessert were some of the most savoury & delicious dishes I've ever experienced. Period.
It was a memorable experience & we definitely will come back to Montreal to visit Toqué! to celebrate a milestone or future achievement, no doubt! Thank you for an incredible experience!
An unforgettable evening crafted by François?Emmanuel Nicol, the brilliant chef behind Québec City's two?Michelin?star Tanière³. The nine?course tasting menu with wine pairings was executed with absolute mastery. The venison main course was transcendent-perfectly prepared, deeply flavorful, & easily one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. & the surprise dessert of caviar & crème brûlée was a stroke of genius, balancing luxury, texture, & sweetness with remarkable precision. An exceptional culinary experience from start to finish.

My favorite restaurant in Montreal. The food, atmosphere & service are impeccable. The menu always pays homage to the seasonal québécois ingredients. I think the food has just the right amount of creativity. The chef pairs unexpected ingredients together without it being overly experimental. The lunch set menu is a great value, & their dessert is a must.
During our spring trip to Montreal, we stayed at the Humaniti Hotel, just a short walk from Toqué!, & made a reservation well in advance in anticipation of this meal. It was an experience we truly looked forward to-& it did not disappoint.
The dining room is elegant & refined, & the service was attentive & thoughtful throughout the evening. We basically ordered most of the courses on the menu, 4 first courses & 4 main courses & 4 desserts. All four of us had an excellent dining experience, with consistently high praise for every course. I would recommend the quail dish, & beef filet was very good, too.
From the beautiful presentation to the precise & well-balanced seasoning, the level of craftsmanship was clear. I must say that for the quality of the food & overall experience, the pricing felt very reasonable.
We would absolutely look forward to returning on a future visit to Montreal.
Bravo !
Toqué! was an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish! The staff was warm, attentive, & made us feel truly cared for throughout the whole meal. The cozy yet elegant ambiance tied it all together.
Everything we ordered was amazing, from the scallop to the steak. But the duck confit deserves its own spotlight. The meat was tender, moist, & not at all greasy. The skin was crispy, adding that perfect savory crunch. Each bite was rich but balanced, & you could tell the quality & care that went into every step of its preparation.
But the true highlight for me was the dessert. Not only was it stunningly plated, but it tasted even better than it looked. Layers of texture & flavor that played together beautifully. I still miss that exact taste of jasmine tea & yogurt crémeux.
Every single dish we ordered was memorable in its own way. Toqué! isn't a cheap meal, but it's one of those rare experiences that's worth the money for all the senses, imo. Easily one of the best culinary experiences we've had in Montreal.
I've tried many establishments similar to this one, & unfortunately, this one was quite underwhelming.
We opted for the 7-course meal, but most dishes seemed randomly thrown together & not well thought out. There was no harmony of flavors, & most were bland. The only good dishes were the dessert & the steak main course-2 out of 7. The other 5 were extremely disappointing, & since they were all served at the beginning of the meal, it made for a depressing start.
The service was okay. Everyone was nice & friendly. Other than being nice, there wasn't anything special about the service. We had mentioned in our reservation that it was for a special anniversary celebration, but nothing was done to acknowledge it-not even a simple'congratulations on your anniversary.'
The ambiance was fine, & the drinks were good.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It is far too expensive for what they offer. The price would be justifiable if the food met the standards of other restaurants of this type, but here it seriously lacked flavor, ingredient quality, & creativity.
& before the owner resplies, yes, disatisfaction was mentionned to the staff members but nothing was done, just a simple'sorry it didn't meet your expectations'. Once again, nothing special about the service.
