Review Summary

Tommy Café receives broad praise for a warm, stylish ambience, a cafe vibe with plenty of natural light, and generous portions that make it a reliable brunch and breakfast spot in Montreal's Old Port. The food and coffee are frequently described as excellent or very good, with crowd-pleasers like avocado toast, eggs benedict variants, shakshuka, French toast, and comforting plates that feel comforting and well executed, while some dishes have disappointed regulars with dryness or sweetness. Service is commonly highlighted as friendly and attentive, though experiences note occasional slowness or busy crowds that lead to longer waits and, in a few cases, communication hiccups around water or dietary restrictions. The atmosphere and energy are repeatedly described as lively and welcoming, making it a popular spot for families, friends, and weekend gatherings, and the design and view from large windows add to the appeal. Pricing is sometimes described as a bit steep, but many feel the quality and portions justify the cost. Diners also stress the importance of clearly communicating allergies or dietary needs, as labeling can be uneven.

Excellent place for breakfast or brunch. We had so much food that i wasnt able to eat anymore until late night. Food was spectacular. Coffee is also very good. Excellent customer service. Only thing is they dont offer beers but have wines, Prosecco & coctails as alternatives.

As a group of four, we came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. There was a bit of a wait (I think it was around 15 minutes), which we spent on some benches across the street.

The wait was worth it. To start. the drinks were great. I had coffee & others sampled a variety of their offerings - everything tasted good & hit thr spot. I somewhat regret not getting a drink with Lucky Charms, which seems to be their thing. A table near us had drinks with Lucky Charms, & they looked so fun!

I had the audacious chicken (Coq-Audacieux) & it was a really good way to start the day. The spicy mayo wasn't spicy but it was tangy & added to the sandwich. Each bite was good.

We had the stellina, which tasted amazing. I didn't get to try the other two dishes but was told that they were very tasty.

From a drink perspective, everything was on point & good to the last drop.

Service was great. The servers really made us feel welcome & at home. This was the last day of our trip to Montreal, & visiting was a wonderful way to start off the day.
