Tiamo is widely celebrated for its vibrant and warm atmosphere, beautiful interior decor, and a menu that frequently delivers delicious, high-quality Italian fare, particularly its wood-fired pizzas, pastas, and creative cocktails. Many visitors highlight the exceptional service, often praising individual staff members for their attentiveness, professionalism, and ability to make guests feel like family. While some patrons have noted concerns regarding noise levels, the heat on the second floor, or occasional inconsistencies in kitchen timing and food preparation, the overall consensus points to a memorable dining experience. The restaurant is frequently recommended for special occasions and group gatherings, with many guests expressing enthusiasm about their intent to return for another enjoyable visit.
We ordered the tuna tartare, prosciutto pizza, & lamb chops. We also got two alcoholic drinks each.
The tuna tartare was okay. There wasn't a lot of tuna in it though, but I think that if you are new to eating raw fish, you would enjoy this as the creaminess of the sauce & fresh vegetables in it are the dominant flavors.
The prosciutto pizza was also okay. There was a good amount of prosciutto on it, but it is mainly a plain cheese pizza with prosciutto on it. I would not recommend getting this unless you like plain pizza. I would also recommend splitting this with at least one other person as the pizza is quite large.
The lamb chops were very good! They were cooked to the specification requested (medium-well), & the vegetables accompanying it (asparagus, potatoes) were cooked very well.
The service is good. We requested to be reseated to the upper level, which was promptly fulfilled. If you sit by the open kitchen, note that it is VERY hot. The rest of the restaurant is at a good temperature.
The drinks were not very good. In my opinion, they tasted very similar to hand sanitizer (like rubbing alcohol with a hint of fruit).
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. The lamb chops were a highlight!
We wanted to try a new Italian restaurant & the pictures online looked great . The age group was very very young . ( teens going out on dates , & groups ). Service was great . Our waitress was sweet & attentive . Everything was correct & fast . The food was a real disappointment . I ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer . It was over cooked & rubbery . Lacked flavor & it came sitting on way too much potato salad , that had no effort or imagination put into it . My main course was cavatelli al ragu. Very simple. Bland . Nothing special for the price . My friends ordered each a pizza . Other than the dough being under done , it was ok . They would have sent it back so they can put it back in the oven for a few more minutes . But time was not on our side that day . But excellent service . Too bad the food needs personality & refinement.
Tiamo was disappointing. The atmosphere & food were actually quite nice. It has a very chic, elegant vibe when you walk in.
The reason why I'd give it 2 stars, though, was because of two things. One, the portion sized were just way too small for the price that I was paying. & two, the service was absolutely terrible.
After ordering an appetizer & a main, I expected to be quite full. But I was actually still hungry. This, to me, indicates that the portion sizes were just not that large.
The service seemed okay at the beginning. Gave recommendations & took our orders fine. But by the end of the meal, everyone only had one glass of water. A small group came in, too, & was waiting to be seated only to look around & find nobody. No one was there to seat them, nor to give us water.
Overall, I won't be coming back. I expect to be treated better for that price.
The food was pretty good, but the server was quite a little rude. It might be the music, but when we talked to her she would just talk while we were still talking & ignored what we were saying.. The restaurant overall is very pretty & the food is good, but the music is wayyyyyy too loud, I couldn't even hear my boyfriend that was sitting next to me.
