In Old Montreal, just south of the Financial District, sits The Farsides. Brought to you by John Edward Gumbley (Bord’Elle) and the Jegantic team, the Farsides is an edgy new take on the restaurant and bar scene. Our blend of culinary styling sets the exotic far eastern flavours of Thailand’s shores crashing into the far Western Beaches of Hawaiian cuisine. The result of this fusion is something we like to call Thaiwaiian. A sumptuous combination of authentic Thai and Hawaiian delicacies, merging familiar flavours with elevated function.
Not only do we consider the Farsides to be a unique take on cuisine, we also aim to please with a brand new re-imagining of the Tiki bar concept. Our mixology program features no less than a dozen modern interpretations of classic cocktails you would normally only expect to find on the Islands.
Stepping into the Farsides will be like walking into our version of an alleyway in Brooklyn circa 1992. Complete with brick walls as high as the eye can see, fire escapes, graffiti laced facades and believe it or not our very own hand painted basketball court. Add a touch of the exotic with jungle like overgrowth set to the beat of 80’s & 90’s hip pop and nostalgic memorabilia from the golden age of rap and what you’ll find is The Farsides. Montreal you might not know us but we know you very well.

Love the vibe, graffiti & dj
The food is decent, came out hot & had great portions sizes & flavours
The service was disappointing. The hostess didn't know where to put us, alot of tables were open & not cleaned up. Eventually we were placed in a small corner with no space & beside a table of 12 where I server ignored us. Didn't check in, didn't refill our drinks or ask how we were doing. Her focus was on the big table serving them drinks, doing shots with themView more
Good Lobster Pad Thai with great service. Always stop by & ask how is everything. Ginormous portion of food that I was unable to finish & have to take it home. This place got good vibes as soon as I step in.View more
⭐ 2/5 - I REALLY wanted to like it… but it missed the mark. (BIG TIME!)
As a foodie, millennial hip-hop lover, & mom entrepreneur with Lao/Thai roots, I walked in excited for a night off from cooking & some good vibes - but sadly, it just didn't live up to the hype.
For our first visit - & a date night - we were seated all the way upstairs in a poorly lit corner, despite the place being FAR from full for a saturday night. The upstairs vibe felt flat & disconnected, which was a major bummer for a place known for its energy & ambiance.
The decor & our server were both nice, & the food came out relatively quickly after we finally placed our order - which took nearly 30 minutes.
But the real letdown? The drinks. We waited nearly AN HOUR for a cocktail, which didn't arrive until during our meal. We were parched... My'Painkilla' was overly sweet, barely had a hint of alcohol, & was overpriced for what it was.
As for the food: our pad thai was OVERLY salty, borderline inedible. When I told the young waitress the food was'just okay', there was no attempt to make it right or elevate the experience.
Also worth noting: my husband is lactose intolerant & not a fan of Thai kaffir lime or curry, so the menu didn't offer much for him either.
NOTE : This is not authentic Thai cuisine. Don't get it twisted. Want the real deal? Go to Thammada instead!
Overall, it's a beautiful space & the branding is very well done (I'll give them that! ) - but the service, food, & timing were disappointing. I walked in excited & left feeling let down. I really wanted to love this place... but it just wasn't good... I can't recommend it.View more
First time visit The Farsides, We are ordering group menu $65 pp. The restaurant is nice decor, live music with dJ , staffs are friendly but foods service is too slow & foods taste just ok . Not satisfied.View more
I attended a work event in this restaurant; it had been reserved for us entirely. The ambiance was fantastic, the food was good, & plentiful. They had a slight problem with quick bar service; they should have been more staff behind the bar for such a large group that we were.
But overall, it was a great place to host such an event.
Staff was friendly & helpful.
I'll go back to try as a normal restaurant experience one day.View more
The atmosphere was pretty upbeat & a fun place to be with friends when you have time to pass. If you're extremely hangry, would not recommend as the service is very slow & food takes a bit to arrive. Nice hangout spot though.View more
The foods were so salty & the way how the cocktails menu explained the drink doesn't match up the taste of it. The atmosphere was nice & catch up with friends but wouldn't order food again 🥲 it is sad cuz this place has so much potentialView more

La cuisine était fermée donc il est impossible de noter cet aspect mais l'ambiance, le decor & le Mai Tai étaient excellents!View more
Love the funky atmosphere very friendly helpful staff. Drinks were good. Pad Thia was a good portion but just too salty. Thia Beef salad was also tasty. Not alot of quality beef in it.View more
Great place to grab a drink & a bite with friends. The decor, ambiance, & music are straight vibes. Excellent service from Sadya & the team.View more
Great spot to go grab a bite & hang out with friends & colleagues, the vibe is super chill & the decor is incredible, amazing service from Sadya & her staffView more
The vibe & the deco of the place is really cool. Seems like it's a great place to be on Friday or Saturday nights. The food for me was just okay, I know it's fusion but very little Thai taste & too bland for me. We tried a bunch of dishes, the seabass was the tastiest & the rest a bit disappointing.View more
Fun, colorful vibes. Chicken skewers were delicious, pad thai was a bit salty for my liking but other than that the drinks were great! The servers were very friendly & took good care of us. Really enjoyed my time!View more
Arrivé à 21:20… la cuisine supposé fermé à 22h…dommage…j'étais seul rien de compliqué.View more
Fun, hip, cool spot with delicious food & cocktails! Thai - Hawaiian fushion which was a great combo of flavors, spices, veggies, meats, etc. The venue is visually very trendy with street graffiti art & anime, has high ceilings, cool furniture, & chill vibes. The waitress was great & personable.View more
