At Tourtière Australienne we aim to reconnect Aussies and Kiwis with their favourite pastry items from down under and introduce the locals to something deliciously different! If you've never tried them you're in for a treat! If you've been missing them, the wait is over.
Ta Pies is consistently praised for hearty meat and veggie pies with a flaky crust and fresh fillings, offering flavors like beef, steak and mushroom and Indian-inspired twists such as butter chicken, with many reviewers calling the pies comforting, satisfying and homemade in quality. The pies arrive hot and are described as well portioned and not too big or too small, and takeout or delivery through services like DoorDash and Uber Eats is a frequent topic, along with the option to buy pies frozen to bake at home. The staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming vibe, though space is small and not designed for dine-in, with some notes mentioning no on-site restrooms and limited seating. Several reviewers appreciate the variety, including a range of meat and vegetarian fillings, and comment on the crust being buttery and flaky. A few critiques touch on occasional differences in filling amounts, spice level or warmth, and a few recommend waiting a bit for the freshest pie, but overall Ta Pies is viewed as a standout, a hidden gem, and a reliable go-to for a satisfying pie experience near Parc Ave.
Ordered in Ta Pies through DoorDash for a cozy night in. They arrived hot & so so delicious! Serving size was perfect for me, not too big & not too small. I tried the classic ground beef.
New owners replied with a statement defending themselves for poor quality & messed up orders & changes in how things are done is somehow my fault because it was'busy'.
Stock Selection is reduced, I can't get our favourite flavour of Mince Beef, cheese & Bacon. Not'Classic…' I never mentioned the word classic.
The gravy HAS changed, it's thin, simple & brown just like the powered stuff. The original gravy was based off of the pie filling & was thick, slightly grainy from the tomato's & herbs & was real.
They now put all the side dishes in a slop of one pot so the Peas, Mash & Gravy are all mixed up. I've never ordered like this. I would always ask for'A Stack' & I would be asked how many & would say'3' & I would get 3 individual small tubs of gravy, 3 of Mash Potatoes & 3 of Mushy Peas.
I've discovered a better recipe online & will now continue to make a home version of something that used to be a quality treat is no more.
Also they stopped doing all the nice UK/OZ/NZ imported snacks & sweets.
Sad to see a great business fail under new owners.

Butter chicken definitely taste more spicy than what it before, before was more savory sweet
The beef mushroom was lacking beef & mushroom , still taste nice though
Some has definitely change up here
I'd still purchase their pies on occasion. Nice that they are on uber eats
A friend strongly recommends the Australian traditional savoury pies from Ta Pies, & there we are. There're many fillings to choose from, we went with the classic beef pie, & it was incredibly satisfying - rich, comforting, & full of flavor.
One nice bonus is that you can also buy the pies frozen to take home & bake yourself, which makes it even more tempting to stock up.
After trying the classic beef, I'm definitely looking forward to coming back & exploring more of their fillings next time.
I ordered the ground beef pie & a sausage roll through ubereats. They were both well seasoned & tasty. The meat & sausage inside the pies were very generous. The pies were flaky & not greasy. It was a very pleasant eating experience. I will definitely reorder.
Keeping in mind taste is personal i rate the sausage roll 5/5 & the ground beef pie 4/5
It's an ok quick bite if you are in a hurry. The pie filling I chose was beef & it was unexpectedly flavourful. The pie shell is not the best. It lacked flavour. I was not very impressed overall! They have many different filling options. I think you should try if you appreciate pies.
Absolutely incredible! This place is a meat pie paradise. Every bite is a burst of savory perfection. The crust is flaky & buttery, & the fillings are rich & flavorful. From classic beef to exotic lamb, they've mastered every recipe. The staff is friendly, & the aroma alone draws you in from the street. If you're a meat pie enthusiast, this is your mecca. Five stars all the way!

Ordered a classic beef & a beef bacon cheese to try - They were so good that on the way back to the car, we had to stop to pick up a few frozen pies for later. Soft, flakey, & the filling is tender & delicious. About $8 a hand pie is very fai
Nicely decorated little shop. Staff were nice & very friendly. I was told the butter chicken is the best seller but honestly didn't think it really blew me away. Would recommend the classic beef though. Buttery pastry shell stuffed with delicious fillings. They have the frozen/refrigerated pies if you want to stock up the fridge with quick but filling meals.
I can't believe I've been missing this little gem. I've tried pepper beef, classic beef & they were awesome. I can't wait to come back & try the others such as curry. They also have can/bottle drinks that you don't normally find which is a plus. Definitely worth the visit & they also sell them 3/4 cooked that you can put in the oven.
Came back & unfortunately they don't make the pepper beef anymore but did try the curry & mushroom beef & both were awesome! I'll probably end up tasting everything at one point but for now the curry one is the winner as it's available as well!
