My girlfriends & I went to Hidden Fish on Tuesday right before the Justin Bieber concert & we were really excited to try it.
The food itself tasted fine but it is what came after that really disappointed us.
The three of us were all violently sick with food poisoning, to the point that my girlfriend had to cancel her trip to Miami because she couldn't fathom taking the plane because she was getting up to throw up every 30 min to an hour. Before throwing accusations, we did covid tests & we all came out negative.
Our bills were between 150-175$ a person. I contacted the restaurant to advise them & they suggested we do a covid test & said that their food was top quality. They offered no compensation & had no empathy towards our situation.
BEWARE!!!! If you do not want to get violently ill with food poisoning DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!
What an experience! Sushi is out of this world. The flavors & freshness of products are on a different planet. All this while paired with a highly competent team executing great service. Ask me to pick one place to go eat before not being able to eat again, this is it. End of discussion

Very fresh fish, most of them match very well with chef's unique sauce. Only the sour spicy sauce on the salmon sashimi is not tasty as well as others. Professional services provided, limited space for table, even for two people. A little bit over priced for fish, acceptable price for the whole though.
had to wait for our table (not too long) although the reservation had been made with a deposit.
The order was taken quickly but the salad brought was the wrong salad, had to be cancelled as it was taking too long & other items had already arrived.
Regardless, this is the best Japanese restaurant in Montreal & quality if the fish & ingredients is worth price.
Highly recommended.
A clear notch above sushi restaurants in town, all in delicate flavors & subtle taste. A wide variety of fresh fishes, & especially the must - the AAAAA wagyu to die for. Knowledgeable & friendly staff with superb service - let's keep those two chefs in town !

food amazing, hands down, no comments the best sushi we've ever ate. thank you chefs!
waiters, service, i mean if i say dry, dry is a good word for the attitude. i won't elaborate, will give it another try. review here better than a public one. attitude. attitude. & attitude. I used to be in restaurant business & when a waiter can't shove a smile on his face no matter what, for the huge tip they get of all the tables, he/she is better out than ruining a service of an amazing food.
Fish were fresh no doubt it, but a lot of menu items seems not available.
Service staff are clearly not well trained & some what pushy on the expensive menu items. Our waitress poured more than half a serving of the most expensive saké when my dinning companion asked for a tasting, right before she went to use the washroom. Then took the wine list away before brought us a bottle, given the wide price range of her recommandation I had to demand that she bring back the wine list to know which wine she brought for us.
There were no additional utensils offer when our shared dish arrived.
Server did not ask if any allergy that the kitchen should be made aware
Some of the floor staff are clearly not dressed professionally.
Beautiful atmosphere. The quality of fish is top tier. I consider myself a sushi fanatic having tried soo many places & this is honestly the best sushi I've ever had in my life. 10/10 do recommend don't even think twice. MUST TRY IN MTL! Would drive back from toronto just to eat here again.
3 stars & a half but this premium restaurant has more potential.
Ingredients were fresh, food was great, food display was beautiful, rolls were rolled tight.
Reception at the front should be more courteous. We did arrive 15 minutes late, I'll give them that, but we were greeted with "Just so you know, 20 minutes will be deducted from your time because you arrived late." Not the greeting that you would expect from such a highly rated restaurant. Just a friendly reminder of the time the table would be needed for the next service would have been just fine & much more welcoming.
We had a new waitress, she told us right off the bat that she was in training, which was fine - she was much more polite than the person at the reception. We needed more detailed suggestions though - another waitress came to tell us about suggestions for on & off menu items (their wagyu duck foie gras was truly excellent).
This place isn't exactly cheap (our bill was a little over 400$ for two) & we expected this (my husband has been here with his friend before). My husband took me here because he thought it was very good last time, but we both agreed that this time, the service (therefore our overall experience) could have been better. When you come to a restaurant like this, you expect to pay for the whole experience, not just the food.
