The pasta is delicious & freshly made. The drinks were served cold & presented well. The service was alright, expected a more consistent & timely experience due to the elevated class of the place. The tiramisu & lemon dessert were great but the panna cotta was not what we expected. The bathrooms are very warm & there are only two stalls. It's a nice ambiance & a pretty spot, love the open kitchen & the bar is cute too. One of the servers, Nico was kind enough to offer us a birthday dessert for our special night, which was a nice touch. Eric was very professional & friendly too.
From the moment we stepped in, we were treated like royalty! The staff here were wonderful! Luca was our waiter & he took the time to go through each item on the menu & explain it. He was so thorough & kind…could not have asked for a better server. The food & cocktails were all delicious! We had the bufala & the panzanella salad, followed by agnoletti & rigatoni & for dessert, tiramisu, panna cotta, & a dark chocolate one (can't remember the name). They even gave recommendations for food for the rest of our week in Montreal!
Decor 9/10 , -1 musique trop forte
Service : 10/10 impeccable
Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food took quite a while to arrive, & when it finally did, half of the dishes were cold & had to be sent back to the kitchen. For the price point, especially with pastas around $38, the quality did not meet our expectations.
That being said, the service team handled the situation professionally. They were very apologetic throughout the evening & kindly offered us dessert as a gesture of goodwill. While I appreciate their efforts to make things right, the food itself fell short of what we expected.
Service started out great but we had multiple people attending to us which made it difficult to know who to ask when we needed something. I prefer to have 1 server per table. The hosts were so sweet & accommodating even when we needed to modify our reservation time last minute. The ambience is great - but the tables & chairs felt a bit flimsy which I found odd. The food was pretty good. The bone marrow pasta was touch dry, but still delicious. The potato tortellini was so rich, but I really enjoyed it. Others claim the portions are small but I felt they were fine. There aren't many options for vegans, but there are some for vegetarians! The highlight was the tiramisu! I don't normally like it, but my friend really wanted it so we gave it a try & this is a dessert I would eat over & over again! Great wine selection.
We had a delicious meal last Saturday night. Beautiful restaurant with very attentive service. The vitello tonato, pasta carbonara, risotto & desserts were outstanding.
I visited with a friend who was in town, & we were craving Italian food. It was my first time here. The restaurant looks cute & chic, reservations were easy to make (likely helped by it being Super Bowl night), & the atmosphere was calm with great Italian music. There's also a coat check, which is always appreciated.
The staff were genuinely very kind & attentive throughout the evening. The menu is small but seasonal. I started with the winter melon salad, which was excellent - fresh, creamy, & surprisingly filling.
Unfortunately, the crab risotto was disappointing. It was undercooked, which was a letdown as risotto is one of my favorite dishes & something you expect an Italian restaurant to master. That said, the manager handled the situation very professionally: they removed the dish, apologized, & invited me to choose something else. I opted for the tuna crudo, which was great.
They also offered us dessert. I was hesitant about the tiramisu (in Montréal, not all places get it right), but it turned out to be very good. I did suggest serving it in a different cup so the flavors could be more evenly enjoyed.
Overall, the experience was positive thanks to the excellent service & atmosphere, even though some dishes were uneven. I'm not in a rush to return, but I would be open to trying the menu again in a different season.
The food is incredible, I highly recommend the bone marrow. We had 4 different pasta dishes at our table & this was the best one. The service however, was noticeably off & you can just tell they have communication issues between staff.
The food runners were amazing, but they did not know much about our food, & what was what, lol. They just brought the dishes out & you can tell the servers don't talk to them much, so hard to order through them. They were great though.
We weren't checked one once during our main course, which was really unfortunate because we wanted to order wine with our pasta, finally our server came once we were all pretty much done. After that we weren't checked in on again, & we wanted to order dessert. We flagged our server down (again) to ask for a dessert menu, which she just handed to us, & didnt say anything. Finally when she returned, we ordered one of the desserts (there's only 4, which is fine) & she said they were all out! It's like damn, why not say that as you deliver it. It would have been nice to have been talked to more & considered during our meal. Maybe it wasn't her day, we all have off days, but we left as a result & ended up going to Monarch a few doors down & the difference in service was night & day!
