I wish I could rate this place higher. The service was incredible, everyone was so kind & patient. They helped us choose the best bagels. The prices were decent & they had a good selection of flavours. I highly reccomend buying some cream cheese to go with your bagels. However, I was dissapointed by the texture of the bagels. They were not warm & it was difficult to chew. Still pretty good but wish it was softer.

Went with a few friends last weekend & honestly St-Viateur Bagel did not disappoint - we got there around 10am & watched them pull fresh sesame bagels straight out of the wood-fired oven, which was such a cool thing to see. The bagels are the real deal, chewy & slightly crispy on the outside, nothing like what you get at a grocery store. We grabbed a bunch to take back to the Airbnb with some cream cheese & smoked salmon & it turned into the best lazy brunch we've had in a long time. If you're in Montreal & skip this place you're genuinely doing yourself a disservice.

Nice place bagels were fluffy & delicious. You don't feeled stuffed like when you eat a tim hortons bagel. Good variety of cream cheeses. Just wish they had vegetarian options.

Love their new flavor spicy everything the most. This location has a long line when we were there, although it moved very fast because they don't help you put the cream cheese on. There's another location down a block or two towards café olímpico that's not on Google map, & it sells the same things & without a long line.

Must try bagels. Can watch them bake in the oven.

Amazing. But don't trust people who say its best naked: sesame with cream cheese is the way to go

We tried the famous St-Viateur Bagels for our breakfast. There was a queue & we had to wait for around 15 minutes. Please note that they do not have the bagel sandwiches at this location. You have to go to their other location for the bagel sandwiches. They only accept debit card or cash.

We ordered their sesame bagels, spice everything, all dressed & blueberry bagel. The sesame bagel was the softest & the best in my opinion. Then comes the spice everything & all dressed bagels. The blueberry one was hard & not that good. You can buy the cheese spreads. They give you the disposable knife. You have to spread it on your own.

If you're in Montreal, do not skip on these bagels.

Really enjoyed the spicy everything bagel!! Apple maple was decent too, denser & less chewy then the everything though. I think would have been better with cream cheese. Will need to do that next time
I do not believe you can buy bagels toasted &/or with cream cheese here. You buy the bagels wholesale & they have fridges for other items like a deli.

best bagels i've had by FARRRRRR. you have to try these. you can't go wrong with everything bagels i tried a few but they were sold out of onion 💔 so i just ended up getting everything, poppy seed, sesame, & rosemary salt? i think that's what it's called. if i had to say my least favourite was the rosemary salt. it was too dense. the everything bagels on the other hand. they were crispy & salty on the outside & warm & soft & slightly sweet on the inside. amazing. i have to try onion next time. but yeah im definitely okay with only ever having the everything. it was just too good. most of the cream cheese options were decent but the kiri cream cheese is the best. go home toast your everything bagel & get some kiri cream cheese & slice some cucumbers & it might be the best thing you've ever had. thank me later.

St-Viateur Bagel ( as La Maison du Bagel), founded in 1957, original shop is located in Montreal's Mile End neighborhood & is Montreal's longest-established bagel shop.

Bagels are a quintessential Jewish traditional food, their history deeply intertwined with the migrations of the Jewish people. Bagels originated in 17th-century Jewish communities in Poland. At that time, bagels were given as gifts to postpartum women, their circular shape symbolizing'life cycle' &'eternity.'

In the early 20th century, with the large-scale migration of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, bagels were brought to cities like New York & Montreal. St-Viateur Bagel was founded in 1957 by Myer Lewkowicz, a Polish Jewish Holocaust survivor. He had dreamed of having a loaf of bread while in a concentration camp, & after his rescue, he established the shop in Montreal, continuing the traditional wood-fired baking method.

The combination of bagels, cream cheese, & smoked salmon is a classic brunch setup for North American Jewish families.

Never a disappointment here. Find a parking spot & you're good to go to enjoy the best bagels, no matter the the flavor. They have cream cheese for immediate bagel consumption.
