The quality of food is fine. Sushi's are fine as well. The only complaints are dessert! & sussages! For dessert it is only ice cream!! I expected more items! Also, the sussage quality was not good at all!
All in all, it was not bad
Our experience at Sota BBQ was incredibly disappointing. We were a large group with a reservation, but when we arrived, they sent us to the basement & split us into three separate tables far apart from each other-not ideal for a birthday dinner. To make matters worse, the basement was unbearably hot, leaving everyone sweating like we were in a sauna.
We arrived at 9:30 PM, a full 1.5 hours before closing, but they rushed us to order everything immediately because they claimed the kitchen was closing. For a Korean BBQ, this completely ruins the experience since the whole point is to order gradually as you eat. Instead, we were forced to make a massive order upfront, which was hard to gauge. Naturally, we ended up with too much food, & they quickly informed us we'd have to pay for any leftovers. It honestly felt like a setup to overcharge customers.
On top of that, they didn't bring many of the items we ordered, brought too much of others, & the food quality was mediocre at best. The chicken was questionable-neither looking nor tasting like chicken-& the sushi was on par with gas station sushi. They also never replaced the grill, even when it was full of burnt scraps, which every other Korean BBQ we've been to does automatically.
To make matters worse, they automatically added tips to our bills, which was not only unexpected but also felt inappropriate given the poor service. I'm not even sure if this is legal, but it was definitely not appreciated.
It was absolutely not worth $57. For that price, you'd expect much better food, service, & an overall experience. Instead, it felt like a complete ripoff.

Best Korean bbq I have in Montreal, super fast service & unlimited soft drinks, Fanta & Canada dry are my favorite, especially the sushi surprised me. I love pork belly & beef rib so much. Highly recommend & 5 stars. The waiters work so hard that they deserve 15% tips.
After reading the many negative reviews I was skeptical. Gave it a try anyway. Pros: Insanely quick service. We ordered by phone & items came within the minute at the fastest. Some of the items were pretty good such as the beef steak cuts & salmon pieces, hence we kept going back to them. Drinks are included. You get choices between sprite, ginger ale, coke … which is typically extra cost at separate places. Cons: the soup that was offered only came in small bowls rather than stone bowls as advertised on pictures. There is variety but the sushi has more rice than filling. I would really only stick with the meats & vegetables. Overall the standards for a good BBQ experience was met. I would recommend you give it a try.
Edit : I came back for the second time to give a chance to this bqq & I'm actually quite surprised. They change their beef quality & ut soo much better then before. Some stuff on the menu still need to work like the dumplings but overall the service was great, sushi amazing & the atmosphere not that bad. Would recommend here.
Too distracted by eating to take good pics Service was super quick, but they missed a lot of our items. 40 minute wait time to get seated, a lot of people wait longer around dinner time. Sushi is done to order, & was surprised really great. Super solid meat, big recommend on the lamb & pork belly. Don't like how busy & loud this place is, & you're pretty squished in but I assume that's just what happens with popular places. That plus the missing items is what made me choose this rating.
The quality when down. The food is below average. The tempura is not very good. The vegetables are still to raw to eat. The sushi depend on the type can be fishy. The service is not very attentive. When order something is always missing. You would need to call the server to get it. The meat could be better cuts. The price is okay for the experience & food.
Very fun place to eat with friends. The service was rapid & the food was good. It was a bit complicated at first to order with our phone but it's actually way better as you don't have to wait for someone to come to your table to order again & again. The only thing is that the tables are a bit small & so is the grill. We were 6 to eat & would probably have needed two tables but the restaurant was packed (because it is a great place & it was saturday). I will def come back.
We ate at this all you can eat at this restaurant. Food wasn't bad. Ice cream was tasty. The selection of sushi was good as well. I recommend that they clean the grill once in a while during our rounds. Some of the meats got stuck after grilling many meats
