Iconic Deli that has been around for decades! I had it when I was a little kid (that's like …. A long time ago!😉) & decided to go back in time to try their famous smoked meat & corn beef! I ordered a smoked meat sandwich (medium fat) & a corn beef platter ( corn beef, fries & pickles) at the take out counter. The staff was friendly & service was quick. They even gave me a few complimentary pastries.
The sandwich was really moist & melt in your mouth. A very good old fashioned smoked meat sandwich. Not as smoky flavour as other establishments but very delicious. The corn beef was just as I remembered. Boiled instead of smoked & the texture is a little more firm.
Deli seats about 50, service is friendly & knowledgeable. Good variety on the menu. 6am-6pm, Parking may be a challenge as only metered parking.
Reasonably priced. Worth the visit!
Edit.: the girls that serve you are amazing, shout out to Kirsty!!! Came here with my kids to honour my dad, as this was one of our go-to places as a kid. Smoked meat platters & the Club sandwich was delish. The takeout menu is stuff of Jewish childhood dreams, latkes, knishes, party sandwiches & danishes...do yourself a favour & go. You'll love the old school deli vibe, all the wonderful food & make new memories with your kids.

When in Montreal, you have to stop for some smoked meat!
Our large group of 10 selected Snowdon as we anticipated it to be much less busy than Schwartz's Deli & we didn't want to wait or stand to eat. We were seated right away & our server was very nice.
What we got:
- Hot brisket sandwich
- Meatballs
- Smoked meat platter (with fries, pickle, & rye)
- Coleslaw
- Sauerkraut
Final Thoughts:
All our sandwiches & platters were delicious! Soft & tender meat on the sandwich & platters, the meatballs were good but a tad sweet. I found the pickles a little too sour, but I really enjoyed the coleslaw. Would recommend checking out this spot next time you're in Montreal & craving a smoked meat sandwich.
Went to Snowdon's .on 10-20-24 at 1300. Line was about 3 minutes. Served a Smoked Meat Platter in less than 5 minutes. Excellent! Perfectly cooked. Made two sandwiches. One of the best in the city.
Great hot brisket platter. Brisket was juicy & gravy was good. Order first then find a seat. Portions were good size & price is decent. Will definitely be back again.
When I visit Montreal, I try to visit a new smoked meat destination, & on my most recent stayover, I went to Snowdon Deli for lunch. I got the smoked meat sandwich platter which comes with fries & pickles. The smoked meat was flavorful, tender, & nicely seasoned. I also appreciated the friendly staff & the old school diner atmosphere. The price for my meal did seem fairly high, compared to similar joints in the city.

Snowden Deli is a great alternative to some of the flashier names in the delicatessen game. It's not in a trendy area & it's got an inauspicious exterior, but the inside looks unchanged since the late eighties in a good way. The smoked meat was amazing. We had it medium & it was rich, sweet, & not too greasy or heavy. The platter w/fries & pickles is absolutely massive, it's probably better suited to share than to eat alone. The place is very hectic & full at mealtimes & the service can be a bit hard to flag down, though the food comes out quickly once ordered. We saw plenty of regulars & folks really enjoying their meals. Strong recommend!
Got a booth in short order for my wife & I. Hart's version of Smoked Meat Platter means the rye bread is served pre-sliced on the side, & you make your own sandwich with as much or as little (but why would you?) meat as you want. The kosher dill & a side of fries is included. Great traditional diner!
Literally One (1) of the Best Deli's in North America; holding to the traditions of the brothers who founded it. Smoked Meat unlike what you can find in any other cities spawned the term "Montreal Smoked Meat". Spicier than Pastrami & offered in three (3) different cuts with Lean & Regular most popular. Traditional Sides are offered & for those diners who wish to partake of non-meat products, their assorted salad offerings are served on a platter & are enough for two to share. Never a disappointment & arrive early for lunch to avoid a wait... or frequent their take-out counter than is also always busy.

We are from BC, & we went here for lunch before heading back west. Traditional awesome Montreal smoked meat platter!!! Highly recommended! The server was excellent 👌
Good quality, but the servers will try to upsell you, for example from a sandwich to a platter, which it turns out is entirely too much food for one person. If you order carefully then you’ll enjoy it more!
