I was in Montreal, & I wanted smoked meat sandwich. We were advised to go to Snowden deli & was not not not disappointed one bit. I had the best smoked meat sandwich! Schwartz's does. Ot hold a chandle to Snowden deli.

Open since 1949 & the food & service are just as good. Smoked meat was superb & our waitress was fantastic.

One of the Lost great places in Montreal if you want to go for a quick nosh. It's been doing something the right for the last 80 years & it's always been a pleasure to stop by here. Whenever I'm in town. Just remember to go for something medium or fatty in terms of the smoke meat cuts & it's one of the last places in town where you can also get a classic tongue sandwich or a good piece of brisket. I've got friends who go out of their way to bring back a ton of their favorites from the chopped liver & onwards all the way back to Israel or for the snowbirds to stock up just before the winter on the way to Florida.

Best'smoked meat,' a Montreal Jewish culinary variation on pastrami (?) that has entered the local cuisine, along with bagels. It melts in your mouth.
