Reviews of Shushuto Bar à Ramen + Tapas describe a stylish, welcoming spot offering generous portions of ramen, sushi, bao and other Japanese fusion dishes, with standout items like creamy cheese udon, duck mazemen and a strong cocktail program; the menu's variety including vegan options appeals to many, and the atmosphere is praised as chic, cozy and lively, though the space can be loud and service occasionally slow; overall the restaurant is regarded as a top pick for inventive Japanese fusion in town, with friendly staff, quality ingredients and well executed dishes, while some guests note expensive prices and a few inconsistent plates that aren't to everyone's taste.
Service très rapide & nourriture fraiche.je recommende les nouilles udon au carbonara. Il y a eu presque pas d'attente la nourriture est arrive très rapidement. Je recommande.
This restaurant was a bit hard to love - ultimately, the drinks & food are VERY good. Atmosphere very modern, enjoyable, good music, LOUD but ok.
We struggled as a large group with the service, & we had many incorrect food orders that were not immediately replaced with the right thing. We were told'it would take too long to make the thing you actually ordered' after we had waited a long time anyways. The timing of delivering all the meals around the same time was terrible - some people finished eating before some others got their food.
I would go again in a smaller group & would expect much better service.
Nous avons eu une très belle soirée!! Ambiance & nourriture 💯 service un peu long mais notre serveur nous a offert une tournée de shooter pour le contretemps, très gentil de sa part ! Je recommande
Had the duck breast tsukemen, Japanese beef katsu. Overall seems pretty standard for a ramenya or katsu place, the gyukatsu had trouble staying together with the panko flaking off, but the dipping sauces were at least matching with the food, but nothing spectacular.
The duck breast tsukemen was also not too out of the ordinary, the duck breast was cooked very well, however the rest of the tsukemen was average at best. The noodles were on the overcooked side & the dipping broth was marginally saltier than what you'd expect from a normal ramen broth, making it hardly giving more flavor to the ramen or duck breast.
Overall while there wasn't anything really done wrong with the food, nothing really stood out either, for the price it's a little too pricey for the food, but overall okay.
I love this restaurant! The strawberry mojito & salmon tartare are to die for! The service is impeccable every time & the atmosphere is great as well. I recommend it :)
location = spacious & good ambiance
service = our waiter friendly & quick
drinks = my amaretto sour can be better, sour but not sweet enough
food = everything we ordered. delicious
what we ordered:
-Crudo; plate of raw salmon, avocado, ikura caviar with yuzu dressing
-mazemen, ramen without broth, protein we chose; pork Chashu
-japanese creamy carbonara udon noodles with shrimp tempura
-mangoe salad with grilled chicken (yummmyyy!)
-Oh La La rice paper sushi rolls
salmon with shrimp tempura i believe.. definitely recommend!
Although a bit expensive, around 25$ for a plate, the portion is quite reasonable & filling. The service was friendly & patient. The waitress was filling our cups of water quite often which made us feel so privileged. The food itself had delicious flavours. I really enjoyed the soup of the tsukemen but I feel like it was a bit too thin of a soup/sauce which made the noodles not as flavourful as it could have been. I also really enjoyed the ratio of fat & meat of the duck but I feel like the texture was a bit chewy & tough for my liking. On the other hand, the cheese & cream udon also had splendid flavours. The first couple of bites are extremely satisfying but the meal starts becoming a bit too heavy making it hard to finish the rest of the meal. The steak was also pretty good but a bit tough & chewy as well.
