Reviews of Shushuto Bar à Ramen + Tapas describe a stylish, welcoming spot offering generous portions of ramen, sushi, bao and other Japanese fusion dishes, with standout items like creamy cheese udon, duck mazemen and a strong cocktail program; the menu's variety including vegan options appeals to many, and the atmosphere is praised as chic, cozy and lively, though the space can be loud and service occasionally slow; overall the restaurant is regarded as a top pick for inventive Japanese fusion in town, with friendly staff, quality ingredients and well executed dishes, while some guests note expensive prices and a few inconsistent plates that aren't to everyone's taste.
Manager did not want to sit us by the window even though I had made reservations & went in right at opening time. There was nobody sitting there, we were asking to sit on another 2-person table by the window & he said it would ruin his entire night if he made changes to his chart. No one sat there the entire time we were there, no one was in the table we asked to sit by by the time we left. That was a very bad way to start our first experience there.
It was good that the food was really great cuz it helped us feel better about staying.

Nous avons été servi par Thomas, super énergie, amical...& très français haha. Je ne sais pas si ceci est relayé au employé mais merci du service & meme davoir trouver de la crème glacé pour mon afogato.
Excellent food, our Bao buns were very hard unfortunately which was unpleasant. Other than that, the food & service was excellent. Lobster ramen: best ramen ever!
From A to Z, everything was amazing!
The ambiance, the food, THE DRINKS, the service... it all was such an amazing experience!
Would totally recommend it. & for sure, will be going back!
Fantastic restaurant. Nice selection of food on the menu. Appetizers were yummy. Ramen was delicious. Beautiful restaurant. Great service.
Bonus- very easy to find parking!
The food quality was extremely variable, particularly the ramen noodles. I even had to send my first dish back, it both tasted bad & had an unpleasant texture due to the poorly defrosted noodles, which went against all of my Canadian instincts. Thankfully the dish I subsequently ordered, off of a different section of the menu, was delicious. One server was truly awful. She was very slow & unresponsive. the rest of the staff were extremely kind & helpful .
The bass of the music was too loud, leaving me feeling tense like I was watching an action movie rather than having a nice relaxing dinner.
Our waitress was very attentive & obliging Food came faster than our drinks. Noise level was not bad. I did appreciate that they did not increase the volume of the music to drown out the clients' talking.
