dim sum(33) cart(12) chinese(8) recommend(7) authentic(7) quality(6) dishes(5) busy(5) chinatown(5) decent(5) fresh(4) generous(4)Come to this place is all about food. I order BBQ pork Bento box for take out. It is only cost 7$. Seriously, I am wondering how they can make profit. The portion is huge ( especially the rice). I won't be too picky on the quality of the char Siu for this price. It is certainly decent. & it is better than any McDo. But ya, the ambient is very old & the service is soso
Very hard to find the restaurant. We left after 10 mins. Couldn't find the entrance.
We were craving dim sum while in Montreal. This restaurant located on the 2nd floor inside a small mall. We were seated quickly & was asked what tea we wanted. Was nice to see push cart ordering here. We ordered five dishes to try. Overall the quality of the dim sum was average. We went on a Friday & it was not too busy so it could explain why some of the dim sum wasn't as fresh. The fried squid was cold & a bit rubbery. The har gow was decent.
Off the beaten path but totally worth it! Don't listen to the negative reviews. The food is so good, & highly recommend dim sum. Servers are not going to check on you like how you might be used to in our western culture, just raise your hand & get their attention & you'll be just fine! Only thing to watch out for is ordering too much food, it's so easy to do when you're hungry & portions here are really big!
À éviter, nourriture servie tiède, sans goût & pas trop bon...ambiance assez drabe & tout est vieux! Je préfère de loin le Moon Nan
A well-known Chinese restaurant in Montréal Chinatown with good food, a stage, & dance floor. Excellent for birthday, anniversary & other celebrations!
Had My Bday there Fung our waitress 200$ Forgot my clutch under the table they kept it for me,,♥️👍🏾
Pour un resto qui vous sort de votre routine, c'est la place.
We went for supper & there were parties that evening. We were seated outside the main area which wasn't a problem for us. The dishes were amazing with great'wok hey'! The problem was more when the party inside started & waiters for the not main area were scarce.
Went on a Sunday, usually the most busy day for dim sum. Waited 20 for pot of tea, food carts were very few & far between (I had to get up to look for food with the bill), & when I did finish a dish they were accumulating on my table cause there was no one to take them away. I even had to go get my own hot water to refill my tea pot. Also, if you don't believe in shrinkflation, it's hell of a real thing. All & I mean ALL the food is smaller, but prices are higher. & now they charge .50 for a takeaway box. If you're gonna go that far too Chinatown for Chinese food from the suburbs, might as well drive to the west island & go to imperial right off the 40. Red ruby has changed & not for the better.
Exceptional customer service & delicious food! Will definitely dine here again.
Not impressed . They served us fried squid super hard from the day before I'm sure . I've had better. Order the meal for 2 . Expensive & not that good ... the dimsums are what you are going for ... maybe next time ... but we paid 76$ including tip for 2 people & I was still hungry .... mehhhh
It's not the fanciest - nor the prettiest - but the Dim Sum here is classic & is brought around by fun women pushing carts. A classic in Montreal.
Variety of options from steamed to fried cooked. Dim sum & many other options to order from. Priced below par, but quality kept up.🤩
We have to stop in for Dim Sum every trip into Montreal. Absolutely our favorite spot in China town!
very traditioal dim sum restaurant w/ cart carrying dim sum. Dim sum is large in size & taste so so. I recommend beef inne
Third visit to Ruby Rouge & we were a little nervous going in because of the influx of negative reviews. I want to say I have no idea what these reviewers were talking about, we had a lovely time. We did dim sum this time, & the only issue was getting something we didn't order & not getting one thing we tried to order. But that probably just comes down to a miscommunication with multiple language barriers! We didn't love all the food but that's what happens when you try something new. The delicious food was delicious as always, & we tried some new things that we loved! We ordered way too much, though! Leftovers for tomorrow!
Taste wise, its mid-decent. The service however is bad. They are always understaffed, making it impossible to ask for something. Often times, they would forget the stuff we asked for, like extra plates or utensils. I get it, its busy. But it doesn't mean they should expect us to understand them & just stay the same. They should hire more workers so that they can manage the customers that they let in.
